Dude. I already schooled you once. Are you under the impression that this was his first dustup? Maybe you should go back to the ShaggyBevo where everybody wraps their arms around each other and sings Kumbahyah and assure everybody that "TEXAS IS BACK!"

Earned the right to tell a person in authority to kick rocks? Look I don’t care where the kid goes but when a 17 or 18 year old thinks he has “earned” the ability to do what he wants and not a coach or possibly a teacher/coach there is a problem.

He was just kicked off his team today, so it shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

So that was the camel that broke the camels back? Not the other stuff?

We get it. LSU is having an epic year and you are mad because you are not having the recruiting year you hoped for. The big year typically comes the next recruiting session. Be patient.

It's the same ole, same ole. When a kid is committed to a school, that schools fans are willing to overlook any and all transgressions. As soon as he flips or rumors start that he is going somewhere else "He is a cancer!"

I think it's safe to say Evans has some issues, regardless of who signs him.

No doubt. I agree 100%. I guess my issue is all the people acting like it is a big deal after yesterday and rumors swirled that he was coming to UGA. Now his behavior is an issue. And, some people vocalized some concerns before, but most just wanted him. I bet if we went through the thread talking about he was down to LSU and Texas A&M, they are all probably arguing that he is going to their school and they are jazzed about it.

To be fair, Evans didn't exactly help his reputation in the last 24 hours.

True. Do you really think he did something that was totally out of left field?

Hey. I get it. If the rumors are not true and he did not sign with Georgia watch all the back tracking and flip flopping that will be going on.

I don't think the reaction today has anything to do with him signing with Georgia. The dude has had red flags for a while now, and this is just another example that he might be trouble. This is also the worst example, imo. He got himself suspended for the state championship game, for crying out loud. That's awful.

I'm not saying he can't straighten out and take this as a wake up call but the fact that he got kicked off his team in advance of a state title game speaks volumes. My understanding is that UGA has a loaded stable as it is, y'all probably don't need to mess with him. My hope is that he ends up kamikaze'ing A&M's locker room at this point.

There are obvious maturity issues, but sometimes player/coach relationships can deteriorate to pretty unworkable levels when you have multiple big egos involved. Hopefully that’s what this is because simply being removed from that situation can help a lot.

UGA needs to vet this thoroughly, but he hasn’t done anything that I would call a deal breaker. Anything that’s public knowledge, anyway.

Good post. I agree. I just took exception to the notion that there's some sort of overreaction here because he signed with Georgia.

How would a Georgia signee do anything to A&Ms locker room?

Your butthurt is palpable.

I mean, I get it. It concerns me, too. But why is it an issue now and it wasn't a week ago?

When did he get suspended again?

Sure. It's a stupid rule. They're not where they are at because of coaching. They're there because of talent. At some point, you have to question if this rule being enforced this late into season is just coaches going on petty power trips (HS coaches are notorious for this...just look at the Florida HS scene).

What good does this rule do for anyone?

To me, this sounds like the straw that broke the camel’s back on a broken relationship between a coach with a big ego and star player also with a big ego.

That doesn’t excuse Evans at all, but there’s likely fault on both sides.

The funny thing is LSU staff wanted him bad yet got beat by UGA staff. They wanted him even though he had all these problems. Now all LSU fans are acting like they never wanted him LOL
