Cole Speer

Speer ranks as the nation's No. 127 wide receiver and the No. 75 overall prospect in Georgia per 247Sports. He's not currently ranked in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.

Rusty says he has been clocked at 4.5 speed.

PWO or is Georgia ahead of the curve here?

He was offered late July according to 247. Not a PWO.

Shocked by this one. When I saw them offer him I thought there was no way it was a committable offer at that time. Thought he was a kid they would take if they missed on other guys. I also thought the same with the OL they took for GT.

6'1 185
10.98 100 meters
4.45 forty(laser)
2020: Averaged 19.6 yards per catch. Caught 59 passes for 1,159 yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior and plays basketball. Might not be a diamond in the rough. Might just be underrated.

4.39 laser at Appy St's camp. 4.45 laser at UGA's camp. He worked out twice. The coaches liked what they saw. He's not a big name WR and won't come in right away and play but he's a solid pick up.

What an odd reaction. Jeremiah Alexander took an official visit to UCF. Should we all laugh about that?

It’s a bit weird. They already have McConkey for this. The UGA takes this summer look underwhelming from the outside for sure.

His GF's brother was recruited by Gus at AU and is a back up QB there. Are you really comparing UCF to going to camp at Appy State ?

Your right App state has won actual titles, not made up ones.

At a certain point, coaches with job security will do this type stuff and just trust the evaluation

Yes. Camps are all over the place and kids go to camps at small colleges all the time. If he was laser timed, as reported, what difference does it make where he was laser timed?

My point wasn't about Alexander so much as your reaction that Speer was at a camp at Appalachian State.

I am also confused about what his GFs brother has to do with anything?

My thoughts exactly. I mean, granted he could be a big miss. He could also be a home run find. Who knows? We all have had players that were ranked low and turned out to be excellent players. D'Andre Baker and JR Reed for us. Jordan Davis another.

I will admit, though, that we have missed on several big WR targets this cycle. Hopefully our coaching staff is serious about opening up our offense and we change the perception (reality, really) of our offense.
