SC never had an elite recruiting class, ever. 2015 class might be their first great one.

What do you classify as an elite recruiting class?

Right now they have the numbers on everyone in the EAST. I imagine we will catch them once our class fills up but it should be interesting.

Our class is close to finished, but it still has some room to grow. Only one source (247Sports) lists high 4* 2014 commit Dante Sawyer as a 2015 commit thus far (he went to JUCO early and therefore will be eligible to be part of the 2015 class). The other sites still have to include him, as well as include 4* 2014 commit Dexter Wideman, whose headed for prep school at Fork Union and then join USC for 2015.

After that the only ones left on the USC board that we stand a good chance of getting are:

4* DT D.J. Jones
4* S Jaquan Johnson
4* ILB Amonte Caban

It will depend on all these guys if we get OVs from them during the season, then we're in great shape for them....

Tennessee finished ahead of UGA and UF in all 4 recruiting services. Is Tennessee a lock to repeat?

With 5 potential 5* commitment and many highly rated 4* waiting to commit to Tennessee, I'd say yes.

Texas, Florida, Georgia can just sit back, set on cruise control and still finish top 10 in recruiting. Tennessee on the other hand have to dig and claw and fight to get stars on our roster. But history has proven that Tennessee can consistently recruit at an elite level. Fulmer out-recruited Florida and Georgia most of the time during his entire tenure.

VOLS will pass UGA in about 3 weeks after Richmond, Tuttle and Sapp finally commit.

Wont happen, too far ahead. Plus Dawgs still favored to get a 5* and 2 High 4*'s. And is still in it for 5* Chuma Edoga. There is still someone still on the board that will make those numbers Sweat

I just put those 3 in on 247's class calculator and that put VOLS ahead of UGA by 9 points...

That would be "if" we don't take anyone else... But the thing is we'll take "AT LEAST" 7 more, possibly 9...

Yeah, we're not done either obviously since it's not even September.

And we'll raise you Roundtree, Shipman, and McGirt. Still looking good for Sweat, Huggins, McFadden, and Jackson

Not this year. SC has won the Summer 2014 SEC East Recruiting National Championship. If a few more players hop on board and TN doesn't make a bowl game again, we got this on lock.

Solid points, I expect us to end up with somewhere b/w 15-19 4* players this class. When the JUCO's finally get graded out by all the sites and when Wideman gets added, that will lock us into a Top 8 Class. If Jones, Caban and another 4* jump on board, we'll push close to Top 5.

I don't see you guys landing Sweat, McFadden or Huggins but it's still early in the game so who knows. Adding Roundtree, Shipman and McGirt would put UGA at 272.52. But yeah, if you somehow land Sweat and McFadden that would be tough to beat.

VOLS adding Tuttle, Sapp and Richmond puts us at 267. Add in Kyle Phillips and 1 out of Micah Abernathy or Ugo Amadi and we're at 275.

Point I'm making is it's gonna be close all the way until NSD and it's a little early to laugh at the thought of UT finishing ahead of UGA again.

Guys this is silly to argue about. Once you get to top 10 it's really kinda splitting hairs.

Unless someone from another fanbase starts a troll thread trying to start needless shite & it's starting to look bad for them cause it don't look like they'll be cashing the checks their mouth couldn't cover...

We're doing a lot better with him than most realize. Only thing that might be hurting us now is Ledbetter flipping. We are so damn stout in our DL class as it is.

UGA has a ton of momentum right now.

No doubt about that. Like I said, UT and UGA should both pull outstanding classes when the smoke clears on NSD. Both teams will have stacked DL classes for sure.
