See my previous post. Jameis Winston was in Tuscaloosa yesterday for the Alabama game and there are rumors going around that he and Chris Casher are considering opening up their recruitments.
I know we would take Winston in a heartbeat, don't know about Casher.

The Florida State momentum swing they enjoyed about a month ago is unraveling fast. Their on field performance sure isn't impressing anyone.

I bet you they won't...

And you would lose that bet. The Alabama staff wanted two QBs in this years class if they could get the right ones. They would love to get Winston and Morris.

Believe what you want.
But if Winston decommits, he's still gonna have to look out of state for a school...

We'll see. If he decommits, and that's up in the air right now, he has a spot at Alabama. So does Chris Casher. FSU can keep Justin Shanks and that OT from Davidson.
If this downward spiral for FSU continues, look for Austin Gholson decommit as well.

Maybe I spoke too soon on Winston after reading some "alleged" comments, but I think the staff is too pigheaded sometimes to take people that have already told them no once.
There have been some instances where they have flipped commits, but they saved spots for them. After Winston turned Bama down, they immediately got a commitment from Morris. Yeah, Bama was rumored to take 2 QBs this year, but Morris wasn't gonna be the #2.
I'd rather have Casher out of all 4 Alabama recruits they have TBH. He's built to play OLB in a 34 defense. QBs, OGs, and DTs are a dime a dozen when it comes to fitting Bama's needs, finding a JACK is hard.
I do hope FSU sinking makes Eddie Goldman's decision easier, they can't offer early playing time(Bama can't either) and now they can't prove success on the field right now by this coaching staff...

For the longest time most people in the "know" thought that Winston and Greyson Lambert were the two QBs Alabama was targeting for this years class.
Winston felt like we didn't want him as much as Kiel and we got caught with our pants down on both fronts.
However, after losing out on both Kiel and Winston, we took Morris' commitment over Lamberts.
Our staff would take Winston and Morris and not think twice about it.

Sweet! We still need a QB.

I see it more as they had 2 list of QBs, the #1s and the #2s.
The #1 QB prospects were:
Gunner Kiel
Jaboo Winston
Alec Morris
The #2 spot list was:
Greyson Lambert
Will Gardner
Jeremy Liggins
Morris wasn't a spot #2 QB and I think that will cause problems down the line if Bama does end up with Winston. He was probably told he was told at the time he was the #1 QB on their board, which would obviously change with the addition of Winston...

Another interesting visitor at yesterdays game was Jameis Winston, who brought his entire family with him. Maybe he's questioning that commitment to Florida State seeing as how they suck total arse.
Interesting!

He will visit LSU for the Auburn game. He is a DT here, IMO. They really want Channing Ward at DE

Chavis doesn't mind having big DEs, his championship defense at UT had 280 pound Shaun Ellis at LDE.
Which, ironically, is the same player they compare Edwards to...

He could be a 2nd teamm all SEC DE, or a solid 1st round pick at DT. Ego was in the same mold. he is a DT now. We have too much depth at DE as it is anyways.

You are usually spot on, Magilla, but in this case you missed it. If Winston wants to commit today then he would be welcomed to the class. Staff has not stopped recruiting him...and there is a reason for that.

I recanted a bit a few post later, I think I woke up a bit pissed off.
Apparently the rumor was on Rival's Mainboard was that Winston would decommit and declare Bama his leader pretty soon.
If that were true, why wouldn't he just commit? He's backing out of 1 commit, naming the team who came in 2nd for his commitment his leader, yet he'd remain uncommitted.
Unless it was a "silent commit", but the only thing that would do is keep Morris solid( assuming Morris isn't ok with another QB in the class). And I don't think you'd keep a QB of his caliber "silent", they draw looks from other recruits by just being apart of a class.
As you can see, I do must of my pissed off work in the morning and my longwinded pondering at night
