The only point i'm trying to make is that BAMA fans telling me Tony Jefferson isn't NFL worthy is just humerous...considering OU>BAMA with having successful players in the league.
If it helps, Stoops told Jefferson to stay next year but he chose otherwise.
How it turns out for him..no one knows yet, but being from OU i have more confidence in him then say....Robert Lester

Yea, i get everybody's goal is to win the National Title but there are 118 programs every year that don't, and not a whole lot of schools can show off a National Championship Trophy to recruits...IMO having former players be successful in the NFL is just as important.

..and i'm sure some of you gumps head just exploded but y'all live in an alternate reality then most of the country, having lived all over the U.S.
All you know is "Roll Tide" and "Herp Derp"..i get that...
Is it selfish to only care about how many rings and money you can get off these college athletes and send them off to the Arena league?

The generational gap you talked about affects success, the Bama guys are just now getting started in the league
- Gerald McCoy has played 3 seasons
- Peterson is a generational talent obviously he's played a good bit
- Bradford has played 3 seasons
& if you look historically Bama and OU are pretty close to equal in the NFL
OK now consider the guys Bama JUST put in the NFL
- Barron's rookie yr
- Trent's rookie yr (broke Jim Browns rookie Browns record)
- Hightower's rookie yr (played well when healthy)
- Upshaw's rookie yr (also good yr, injuries forced him to play and he was a pretty nice fill-in)
- Kareem Jackson's 3rd yr, starter for the Texans
- Terrence Cody, 2nd yr, started last yr, was hurt in preseason so he lost his starting spot, but played quiote a bit
- Dre Kirkpatrick rookie yr would've started got hurt pre-season
- Julio is self explanatory, 2 yrs in & he's easily on the list of top 5 WR's in the league right now
I could go on & on, but the point is it's about equal, or way closer to equal than you think
On Jefferson all I was saying is that he REEAAALLY needed a good 40 time since on film he isn't a quick twitch fluid type S, guys were really looking for his 40 time & he disappointed, could he make it up by having a 4.5 range 40 (what he needs) at his Pro Day? Sure Teams take the fastest time period, but don't get your panties all in a wad man geez

Before I bow out for this ridiculous debate, I'd just like to point out that Alabama has more former players on NFL rosters than Oklahoma. And that difference will only increase every year as Bama continues to churn out more NFL caliber players than OU.

Did I dream up all those bowl losses for Oklahoma or were those real? Is someone actually trying to make the case the OU has been competing for national championships the last 7 years?

I don't think that's even debatable, Stoops has a NC and he's been twice and gotten run out of the stadium, Saban is undefeated in NC's under Bama

Why are coaches hired? Why do colleges even play football, is that not the ultimate goal?? NFL talent is just a by-product

You left off about 30 other NFL guys from OU since 2000 but i see what you're saying to a degree but...
DeMarco Murray has played 2 seasons..
Jermaine Gresham has played 2 seasons..
..and both are future hall of fame players. Not including this year's Top OT prospect from OU who was a QB in Juco 2 years ago...
Not saying BAMA isn't good at sending guys to the next level because they are but i'm just letting it be known that since 2000, no coach has sen talent and had the success rate that Bob Stoops and OU have had.
That's why the Tony Jefferson remark was funny to me..because he has just as much potential as any of these other guys before him and a 40 time he ran with a pulled muscle isn't enough evidence that he will or will not be good in the NFL. Who cares where he's drafted, it's probably a good thing he gets knocked down a bit, most of those guys work harder and earn a roster spot a majority of the time anyway.
National Title's don't transition to success in the NFL

That's why the "David Cornwell being #1" comment was funny to me...because again.. OU has had 2 Heisman QB's since 2000 and Josh Heupel should have won it in 2000 when Chris fvckin Weinke edged him out.
Not to mention Heupel is now our QB coach/Co-offensive coordinator and if he feels Hansen is better than Cornwell, i'd have to trust in his opinion over what some asshat at Rivals or the SEC Rant says.

No, that's not true.
Where are BAMA's Adrian Peterson?
DeMarco Murray?
Sam Bradford?
Roy Williams?
Tommie Harris?
Jermaine Gresham?
Teddy Lehman?
Gerald McCoy?
Mark Clayton?
Quentin Griffin?
Phil Loadholt?
Trent Williams?
Where are the successful BAMA NFL players...i'm not talking back-ups.

Josh Heupel and Jason White sure lit the NFL on fire.

I was responding to this comment:
Bama has more former players making a living in the NFL than OU. If OU has more superstars, then congrats, but Bama has more players actually making it in the NFL. OU may very well have more in the Arena League though.

You're so fricking stupid..OU has more players in the NFL since 2000.Period. More players..more superstars..
Unless you use the "BAMA National Championship Scale" and make up a bunch of guys that got cut in training camp from BAMA.
An OU almumni just won MVP of the frickin NFL for god's sake!
