He's pretty close when healthy...which is somewhat concerning, because he hasn't been the same since middle of his soph year. Kid has taken a shitload of shots in high school...
We're still sitting good with every prospect we sat well with when this thread was made -- other than Leo Lewis. And a couple of the guys we are in on that got initial ratings are 4*s now too...
It's going to take a royal screw up for it to not be the best class in modern MSU history "on paper"...

Has State ever flipped anyone from Alabama?

He was the coach they deserved, but not the one they needed.

No. No, y'all don't.

The idea is fine right now. No chance.

Another first round linebacker in Mosley, and a solid year for DePriest for the 2015 draft reinforces it for Alabama. Plus, early playing time is available.

And McKinney leaving for the NFL and early PT at MSU won't?

Do you want to compare success of LBs?

To act like state doesn't put guys in the NFL is laughable. Is it at the rate Alabama does? No. But we put our fair share there, especially on defense. Also bama puts guys in the league at a higher rate but quite a few don't live up to expectations. Hell since Mullen has been there I can think of two at lb that start on their respective teams in kj wright and Chris white.
nicco johnson- to early to tell
donta hightower- pretty good
Courtney upshaw- bust
Rolando McClain- bust
so that's 4 in 7 years or so. And before you come in here claiming ryans he was before saban. So to reiterate, although Alabama puts some guys in the league, they don't produce on a level like your trying to make out.
eta: forgot to add Chaney who also is a starter foe his team.

State has a proud defensive history, but Alabama's defense revolves around the LB. That's my point. Lewis is another Dont'a Hightower in the 3-4 defense.

I never denied that. But under Mullen and saban both schools have put guys at that position in the league. And quite frankly states guys have succeeded more at the next level. And you can throw Moseley and depriest out there and we can counter with McKinney and wells who both will be in the league. What saban can pitch is winning championships in college. But PT and putting guys at their position I the league is a wash.
