Does UF plan on using Staver as a DE or QB?
I've read, he's been beaten out at the QB position, and will play primarily as a DE for Brentwood Academy this year.

Wow, just looked at his offer list and that doesn't look promising...
Throw in the fact that he can't even start for his own high-school team, if what you say is true, and this doesn't look like the type of player Florida usually takes.

I don't see in the thread where it addresses whether or not this guy was moved to the defensive line. Am I just missing it?

We took him as a project at QB. We weren't going to get a big time QB this year. Not a chance.

I would be surprised by this - but one of his HS coaches (not the head coach) did recently tell me he is a fairly big project who tends to shine in camps but not in games. I know Bama's prior OC was interested for what it's worth.

Yeah, UF isn't expecting him to come in and compete day 1. Kid needs a lot of work but has the arm strength and frame to build upon.

Based on the video I saw, Staver has a rifle for an arm and has NFL size.

Yea, he plays DE. He was beaten out for the QB job
