I do think it was a distraction. But when both play so good how do you not do it.
The last play was boneheaded.
But adddressing how great TL was, let's look at the numbers really.
TL - 78% 403 yDs, 4 TDs, btw Rico had over 100 receiving out of the backfield alone and a score.
JG. 11-14, 191yds, 1 Td, plus 20 for 135 and 2 running
RS. 16-20, 175yds, 3 tds
That's 17-24 79%, 366, 4tds, plus the running stats
Did TL really put on a clinic?? BT rotated every possession!

I didn't say he wasn't impressive, he what's awonderful arm. I said the numbers are misleading. The first play of the game was a screen to a receiver that went 45.
When you say he threw for 403 and 4 it seems like he was throwing it all over the field. When he actually had a couple of nice throws, 2 on decent TDs. But he also had a throw along the sideline for about 40 that was under thrown and the receiver made an adjustment, while the 2 DBs in coverages slipped down, or it would have been picked.
TL is a great QB, Fields is better.

400 yards is 400 yards bro, but keep trying to spin it. And I don't know what you were watching but he was making some incredible throws.. elite throws. Didn't fields throw a late pick to cost his team the game the other night? Both are really good. Another thing is certain at clemson he will get great coaching. Fields with Chaney at uga? Who knows. Of course fields is uncommitted and won the underwear olympics circuit so he is getting all the hype from pay sites for clicks.

He Feilds did make a bad throw, I was there.
54 yards into the back of the Endzone , into the wind, after just escaping Adam Anderson with 2 others in his face off his back foot, down 12 with less than 2 to go.
Also saw every snap of cartersville game, I was there too.
Sat in Harrison's sideline with about 500 UGA, FSU, and AU fans there just to see Feilds. Think about that 1 guy kept his team in a game against the best defense ( 6 d1 players) in the state.
Trevor Lawrence as good as he is hasn't faced anything close to as tough since the state title in 2015( Buford)
I'll say it again, TL is incredible, he ain't Fields though.

I remember saying the same thing about a QB that came to UT back in the early to mid 90's. He was 6-5 and 195 pounds, and was pretty much just a pure passer (no real run threat), and became the starter early in his Freshman season. Trevor is 6-6 210. That is plenty big for a High School Senior...
BTW...the other guy turned out to be pretty good.

Wow KJ Henry up to 8. Derion Kendrick jumped up 100 spots or so on rivals best player in the state by far

Pretty sure when Fields injured his finger and wasn't going to play the end of the season, that it was a forgone conclusion. Still means very little.

I think it was a big deal to some because it meant that UGA has no longer been snubbed by the #1 recruit in the country. Kinda hurts to miss on #1 when they are from your own state. Now that JF has been #1, some fans can say "meh, it is debatable who is #1, see how it flip-flopped? I still think we got the #1 in the country"

Not at all. Lawrence's score went up. It wasn't by default.
