While in practice it kind of is... They explicitly stated that they haven't awarded him a fifth star due to insufficient footage for him on defense yet. With the expectation that they award it this fall with continued solid performance on the field.

That doesn't make a lick of sense. If they have insufficient footage, why rank him 19?

Nope. I'm a member of the other place. The other place doesn't raise a ranking and then not change the star if it's warranted. Makes no sense to have someone 19 with four and someone else 25 at five. They sholdn't have bumped him that high if they weren't sure.

Because of his athleticism.
Not all athleticism translates to the field of play. But the kid is a freak.

Sounds like you're confusing 247 and 247 composite.
Carter is only 19th on 247 not composite right now... Thanks to no national ranking for Rivals right now.
Fwiw, 247 doesn't even have Arik Gilbert as a 5* right now (non composite)...
