Found this on Texas boards when I was looking for detail about Baylor.

My understanding is that Strong told Irvin (Tim Irvin) Muschamp/T-Rob wouldn't be at Auburn long, told Anderson that Ole Miss was about to be in deep $#@! for cheating and told Hudson that this Briles stuff would eventually be a dumpster fire.

I can tell you this, Texas was confident this was coming down. Alabama knew it too.
In reference to Anderson and Ole Miss. From Eric Nahlin at IT. Both the Alabama and Texas staffs were actively telling Anderson/Little that the Ole Miss $#@! was going to be bad.

Well Anderson and Little will be in Oxford shortly so I would say that wasn't the best approach.

shite, name a school that doesn't use that tactic. Some are worse than others though.

Once you know the competition, every program does this to some degree. To be fair they have been spot on for two of them. Ole Miss in wait and see mode.

And other schools are telling kids considering Texas Charlie has had back to back losing seasons and is about to to get shite canned

We didn't pursue Anderson that much, so not sure why we would use negative recruiting with him.

SC used to negative recruit for other schools. I'll allow it. I hope we get into this neg recruiting more, i think it works more than one thinks.

Not even negative recruiting...TRUTHFUL recruiting

I don't see a lie anywhere in the story

I mean, everyone knew Muschamp wasn't going to be at Auburn long

We are not going to join in your obsession with Texas. Sorry.

Seeing as Texas had a guy on their staff involved in the noa, and Vaughn had lied to the NCAA.
How embarrassing for Texas that it comes to negative recruiting. They have fallen so far down. I hope they keep Charlie strong after another 7-5 season. Program on the rise!

All the while Texas had a staff member (Vaughn) mentioned in OM's NOA
ETA: And as another poster mentioned, it's hilarious to me that Texas has to negative recruit against OM. Get fricked Texas.

Many are starting to believe that Vaughn got or at least tried to get a couple questionable recruits into Texas. Devonaire Clarington's ACT was flagged by the NCAA. Texas chose to walk away from that issue like they did from Vaughn.
Clint Hurtt served as Charlie Strong's recruiter at Louisville, but he couldn't follow Strong because of an NCAA "show cause". Coach Davis, fired by Bama, also has Texas ties.
It is interesting how nothing ever seems to "stick" to Texas.
