Just lost some key recruits against NC Tarheels and Baylor Bears. Now hoping for a 3-star ranked as 587th best player for 2021 class. No a single SEC school even offered him.

Horns LB Recruiting Efforts

The Horns coaching staff needs to recruit SEC players for SEC ball. This approach is not going to make the chances of success any greater unfortunately.

Appears Sark is trying to learn the challenges of recruiting on the job. Something at least Herman was proven at. Not a good start for Sark's staff.

I am just not sure how Texas is going to bridge this gap and become any type of force in the SEC. Worse, their recruting message to recruits just got a whole lot more convoluted with their existing Big 12 contact while eventually making the move to the Big Boys league of the SEC.

Thoughts? How does Sark change the narrative and start beating out the likes of even Baylor for recruits let along A&M, LSU, Bama, GA, FL, etc?

Mac brown is trying to prove a point. Besides, rankings will be way off this year. Lack of camps, shortened seasons for high schools....there will be a ton of overlooked players.

Was Sark a strong recruiter at USC? With the early signing period, it's understandable to have issues in year 1. But in year 2 you should be getting an excitement boost. You can promise the world to recruits.

We just landed a LB out of Cali this morning. 230lbs. Ran a laser 4.59. He’ll play against Ducanville in a few weeks, maybe he’ll get more recognition.

Oh, I'm sure he will. I have a feeling he'll shoot up the rankings.

F-250s are backordered like everything else in the US, between their bagmen and the burnt orange bump they'll still end up with a class inside the top 15. Classes in the 10 to 15 range aren't going to get you much in the SEC West though.

Haha Texas joins in 2025 and recruiting trash talk is already here. Love it. Texas’s class looks decent IMO.

Would be 4th in the West? 5th in the SEC?

its all relative. Its decent when compared to schools who dont have any expectations to seriously compete at a high level. Its not when you compare it to the schools who do

Their class has pretty much fallen apart at the top level and are pretty much only in it for devon campbell right now. Sark is completely in over his head

Well still August and if they pull Campbell and Evan Stewart, that be a great offensive class to build on. They got Sanders and Xavier worthy last year. Kelian Robinson just transferred in to go with Bijan. That’s a lot of offensive talent.

Defense- will get train wrecked lol It’s like they are a B12 team or something.

They are probably behind florida for evan stewart right now

They are looking at a top 15 class. A&M is looking at a class that can score over 300 points and is off to a great start for 2023. They are fricked in a big way if they dont win this year

I saw something showing the average class for A&M has gone up like 8-9 spots since their move to the SEC. Texas vice-versa. You guys think it’ll level out at all once they join?

Or is Texas just a Texas problem? lol

i have no worries about UT going forward. especially if sark is somehow still around. the way hes handled recruiting since visits opened up is a joke and he just basically handed us an elite 2022 class and thats the kind of thing thats builds momentum on top of itself

If we falter, they could take the Texas alpha chair at the recruiting table away from us. But with Jimbo, I really don't think we'll falter. Plus, we're going to have a much stronger roster than them. If we start beating them by three scores every year, they are toast until Jimbo retires.

Not so sure about this Cali kid...and highly unlikely he is shooting up any rankings. Just have to hope that Sark, unlike his last 2 predecessors, can actually develop raw talent.

"With a verified 4.8 40, there are questions about Kerry’s top-end speed..."

"On more than a handful of plays, Kerry struggles to sink his hips as he approaches ball carriers, resulting in a lot of drag-down tackles up around the shoulders — he doesn’t always appear to be the most fluid and flexible player.."

"Kerry profiles as more of a developmental prospect Texas hopes they evaluated well. Given the need in the recruiting class, especially with the potential that longtime commit Trevell Johnson is wavering, Kerry would make a fine addition when he makes his decision on Wednesday morning."

And of course there is some Bama poking. I can't talk anything against it either. Damn Saban and his recruiting machine!! I am just expecting to see a SEC West loss this year for Bama from their main competition as an away game for them.

I just visited a Texas board to see if they're seeing what we're seeing. The last 5 pages of their 2022 thread is them arguing with one another about why they won't cheat like everyone else. So, yea...they know they're in trouble.
