@max_olson·
Keller brothers 4* DE Sione(2014) and 5* OT Maea(2015) Teuhema have decommitted from Texas, per a source.
Looks like 2 great pickups for LSU coming.

That rebuilding project at Texas may take a bit longer than expected.

Is Strong considered a really good recruiter?

He was great at UF. However, that is where all his relationships are. It is going to take some time to get the relationships in TX. The best way to recruit well early in a place you haven't heavily recruited is winning. If he can win, there will be far less emphasis put on relationships. If he struggles year 1, it will be hard for him to get that program moving in the right direction.

Strong is a good recruiter, but his best work was done in Florida. He can still get some Florida kids to go to Austin, but its going to be harder to get the Florida athletes there than it was for him in Louisville IMO.
For one you have to recruit higher level athletes at UT, and two is the obvious distance factor.
He seems to be recruiting very sporadically right now, but that could be because he is rushed for time ATM.

It's interesting to me that A&M never offered Sione, not even to get his brother. They were both visiting A&M 6 months or so ago, and we almost certainly could have had both of them, but we just did not want to offer Sione. LSU certainly has a better defense than we do, though - so maybe our coaches blew it.

Adams and Paris were never very interested in A&M, that's true. The Teuhema brothers visited A&M awhile back, and probably would have committed had we offered Sione, but, for whatever reason, our coaches just weren't high on him. Never did offer. LSU has a great class, and recruits Texas well. I'm sure that will continue. Congrats!
With the way coaches are starting to come into Louisiana, we have to recruit Texas hard. People blame the staff, but if Miles can't keep a kid in state a new coach surely won't. OffTopic but its more about what other staffs are doing moreso than what our staff isn't.

LSU, A&M and Bama will be locked in recruiting battles as long as Les, Nick & Sumlin stick around. Texas and Louisiana produce ridiculous football talent and I don't know about Texas but Louisiana is absolutely loaded for the next 3 years. We will be having dick measuring recruiting threads for the extended future for sure.

I don't get the low-grade worry I sense in the LSU fan base about recruiting. LSU is recruiting very well...will almost certainly finish #3 in the country. What do you people want?? A&M and LSU have very similar classes this year, and we're ecstatic. You guys, on the other hand, act like you're getting beat with a stick. I guess your success has increased expectations,

I'm just sick and tired of hearing aggies and bammers thinking they conquered LA just because LSU didn't get a signature from every kid they offered in-state, then disappear once a top kid in their State spurns them.

Thank you. I 100% agree. We've met all our needs with extremely amazing talent at every position. Greed is dumb

I needle and poke fun at y'all but I don't hate y'all. It's all in good fun. There are exceptions when people step outta or over the line, but for yhe most part, at least for me, it's just entertainment.
