A 5"10 180 lb kid who's a 4.5 playing against maryland competition that is totally pedestrian. Oh, but he's a 5 star! Louisiana produces three to five of those guys every year. We'll see what he does against LSU. Bama's NOT getting Jaboo nor Landon and probably no Goldman. Jones is a lock, but Jenkins is not. Good luck with your historic finish.

Jones picks Bama and goes 4-0 against Auburn. Still amused?

Auburn is in shambles right now so the iron bowl won't be competitive for a while no matter who you guys get. LSU could finish with the top class if they get Collins, Phillips, Jeremy Hill and Mario Edwards to go with Gunner Kiel, et al. That would give the tigers the best overall class and make them very tough to beat for the next few years regardless of whether bama can eek out the recruiting title due to oversigning.

Sorry to disappoint but C Jones played RB majority of this yr and yes it was MD, but a kid can't pick where he plays, Gunner Kiel tore holes in every INDIANA pass D, how good are they? DGB was dominant against Missouri HS D's. Get my point?

BTW C. Jones stats from Rivals:

quote:

He caught 39 passes for 635 yards and six touchdowns. He rushed for 948 yards and 13 scores. He has five interceptions on defense and added four scores in the return game.

Yeah so he dominated the competition so what

And Bama will be landing Landon Collins and end with the #1 class. Have a nice day

Alabama could sign 24892482 prospects in this class, but your top 20 only count towards the point total.

Yeah, whatever man. We'll see on feb 3rd when the dust settles. The 08 and 09 run really spoiled the bama fan base into thinking that would be the norm. But the reality is that LSU was down due to Katrina and Florida was wrapping up the Tebow era while sinking into the abyss of their own feelings of entitlement. I must also note that one thing I have yet to witness is Nick Saban defeating a team more talented than his own.

Florida in '09 probably had more overall talent than Alabama did at that point because Saban had only had 2 classes to that point.

Sooo, Cjones is going to be the 4th receiver in the class? No way he'll play tb if dee hart can't crack the lineup. It's really starting to look like jones is more or less a ploy to get goldman in a year where numbers aren't critical due to xtra schollies. The fact that he might be overrated by scouting services doesn't hurt class rankings either. I think he ends up at cb by this time next year. He doesn't have the size or the speed to play wideout.

Always need a slot guy

And keep in mind the only service that has him listed as a WR and not an ATH Scout, has him as a 5*, not saying that is right or wrong.

You can argue about over and underrated guys all you want, bottom line is Saban and staff have made an assesment and saw enough to offer a scholly and pursue C.Jones, that is good enough for me.

Losing players due to Katrina is a lame excuse?? A list of players from the NO area in recent years includes dexter mccluster, kentrell lockett, chad jones, joe mcknight, tmathieu, landon collins, javonte magee, and dj fluker. And that's only naming the sure-fire studs off the top of my head. Anyone who doesn't think losing that kind of talent base hurt the LSU program is a complete moron.

I don't think florida had more talent in 09. Bama had four first round picks last year. More depth MAYBE, but not more talent.
