Tiger fans, what is the story on him? Rumor this morning that we are interested and he might be listening.

Hopefully he works out. Matt House made him and all the other defensive players look horrible.

Why do you dumb dicks ask what’s the story on him? Guarantee you watched the LSU/Ole Miss game, you know the game yall put up 700 yards on. Are you looking for somebody to say, man he was the best player on the field, man hate to lose him. The entire defense was trash that’s the story.

Do you remember that DB that tried to strip the ball instead of tackle the ole Miss Wr ; and it led to an additional 20 yds after the catch with him hanging onto the WR for a 5 yd ride?
That was Sage Ryan.
That was Sage Ryan.

Yeah, not trolling, but I'm pretty sure he was the DB when they played Bama that was always standing near the play but didn't want to be involved in the contact. I think he got trucked a few times too.

To be fair when we played Bama we were down our 4 CB’s. We had Ryan, Burns and 2 true freshman at corner. So he wasn’t alone In it.
Alexander - leg injury game prior
Harris -
Chestnut -
Brooks - cancer
The Brooks loss really broke the secondary as he was the leader of the unit.

Oh, I know. That wasn't an insult to the secondary. Ryan just always seems to shy away from contact, from what I remember.

He just couldn’t put it together for some reason.

He is pretty bad, your post was correct.

This thread had a good bit on him
Long story short - never quite played up to his 5-star potential but did play a good bit his first 3 years here. He was the nickel his first 2.5 seasons then corner the last part of this season. He was better at corner than nickel by a decent bit, simply made some plays there where as at nickel that was pretty rare.
He came to the coaching staff with his dad demanding $200k of NIL and to use him like Travis Hunter on offense/defense and got laughed out the room essentially. Hit the portal right after that meeting.

He didn't live up to initial hype, but I think he may have been our highest PFF rated coverage guy by season's end. Not a huge bar to clear though and I think concerns of his avoidance of contact are valid. Overall, decent portal add for depth but he needs some work before he's a star.

UPDATE: Apparently other schools shared our view of Ryan, and he couldn't find anyone to meet his price tag to leave. Announced he is staying at LSU.
