Hope it works out for him at bama but honestly a lot of Tech fans wanted us to take the local kicker from Mill Creek all along. He's got better stats and a very strong leg. Bulovas' has a strong leg as well but his stats suck. He was 3/9 with a long of 37 and 30/36 PAT's as a senior and 7/14 with a long of 38 and 38/40 on PAT's as a junior.
The local kid who took his spot (Brenton King) was 11/14 with a long of 56 and 62/64 on PATS's as a senior. He was 19/24 with a long of 50 and 60/61 on PAT's as a junior.
Of course all kickers coming out of high school have to adjust to not using a tee on field goals and kicking off from the 35 so you never know for sure who will pan out but I like the guy we ended up with. A lot of kicking success comes down to what's going on between the ears so to speak and given Bulovas' stats and some the drama around him I think we're better off with King.
