Brian Perroni (TAMU247) says it isn't official yet.
ETA: Sounds like it was announced on ESPN Waco, but Perroni spoke with his coach and said it wasn't official yet.

This kid is a beast and a great kid...nice pickup for you guys if/when it's official. 
However, it's a big kick in the junk for Texas...I felt really confident on Jones to Texas.
This recruiting thing is crazy.
Edit: One of recruiting guys is saying that Jones' father is denying the commitment but will be announcing
a top 5 this evening...stay tuned.

I don't think I've read anything regarding Bama being involved in his recruitment until this. So to me it seems to be coming out of nowhere. Is that accurate, or has Bama been on him?

We want the kid, but we have never really been in on him. So it sucks losing him but it doesn't really sting, like losing kendall sheffield did, cause we never really had a chance. Texas fans are gone be mad though

Somewhat. Our other DT commit is from MS which means there is a high chance that he Landmasses us sometime before NSD. We lose 2-3 DTs this year so our staff will need to replace those in this class.

I am merely pointing out that us taking Jones is somewhat irrelevant to Lawrence's recruitment especially at this stage of the game. It would be like me saying that if you get both Oliver and Alexander then Lawrence must be headed here. Those recruitments really have nothing to do with each other.
