Is Bama Guidry’s top school following the visit?

“Yes sir,” Guidry said

A couple weeks ago, Guidry said he planned to make a decision at some point in the season, but after yesterday’s visit, that decision could come much sooner.

“I really think it’s probably going to be next Sunday, the Sunday coming up,” Guidry said.

Coincidentally is visiting LSU's Bayou Picnic the day before he announces, should be an interesting weekend.

Shea seems to think things will change if he makes that visit, but we will see.

When was the last time Shea or any other beat writer anywhere didn't think that a trip to a prospective school would change things? All of these clowns for every school are wrong more than they are right.

"I was urged to end it right there," Guidry said. "They care that you play football but it's not the most important thing while you're there. They talk about all the academic stuff with you and your classes.

"Alabama is the number one school in my recruitment. Growing up, Alabama was my dream school. It's how Nick Saban wins SEC championships, all kind of championships. And it's my mama's dream for me to go to Alabama, too. She wants me to be different."

Sonny and Shea are 2 of the more conservative guys out there. It's not like they say this about everyone who visits LSU. Lots of LSU guys have predicted Guidry to be in our class, seems like it will come down to his visit this weekend if he makes it.

Bama may feel Nico Collins will end up in Athens, thus putting on the full court press for the juco. I like Guidry from the tape I saw, he will be in the rotation next yr.

He just needs to remember he's not welcomed back to this state.

I think it's too early to tell where Nico will end up, and he is far from a lock to UGA or anywhere else at this point. I think offering Guidry is more about missing out on all of those WRs last year.

When do you think Chris Smith from Baton Rouge commits to Bama? One of the upcoming camps?

Christopher Allen? I think he drags out his recruitment. He probably won't commit to wherever until late fall at the earliest.

He's committing to Bama. Period.

I did not mean to imply I thought Collins was a UGA lock, frankly I will believe it when I see it when arguably the top prospect in Bama commits to UGA. Nico certainly is high on Eason and Fromm, Michigan I think is a pretender for his services.

Collins is most likely this year's Ben Davis, Mack Wilson, Marlon Humphrey, etc. You can choose to be trolled by him, but the likelihood that he actually leaves the state is slim to none. The fact that he named Michigan of all places his leader shows this more than anything IMO.

Accepting a commitment from a JUCO WR now has absolutely nothing to do with how our staff feels about Collins. Our staff wouldn't consistently bring in the top recruiting class if they conceded an in-state player elsewhere nine months before NSD.

He won't be trolling me or most dawg fans, this is not my first rodeo with recruiting. That's why I stated I'll believe it when I see it, UGA is in the drivers seat for Mark Webb out of Philly and another in state WR giving the dawgs 4 this class. shite, their WR class might be done. Monty Rice is receiving more attention from the dawgs staff the past month than Collins, don't know how Kirby will translate as a HC but the recruiting has improved. Did not mean to go on a rant and troll the post, back to Guidry I like him as I stated.

It would be nice to have him next season after Dupre and Dural leave. We'll have plenty of talent but not a lot of experience.

If I were you, I wouldn't get too invested in thinking Collins winds up in Athens. While not out of the realm of possibility, it's fairly unlikely he winds up anywhere but Tuscaloosa. Mecole Hardman part 2 (except reverse the teams' fates).

I'll also add that we likely sign 5 WRs this year.

We've been mentioned as the leader at some point or another for 6 guys that will end up as either 5* or high 4* guys.

Devonta Smith - Will be a consensus 5* soon.
Jerry Jeudy - Some college coaches think is the #1 WR in the country.
Nico Collins - As discussed.
Henry Ruggs - High 4* speedy guy. Great athlete that's just been playing WR for one year. Great basketball player.
Stephen Guidry - As discussed.
Jeff Thomas - Does almost no interviews, but has called Bama his leader.

We'll be making up for AJ Brown and Demetris Robertson not coming.

On Monty Rice, if he comes to Bama's camp and gets the commitable offer, he will likely commit on the spot. Not a day later. Not a week or a month later. But on the spot. He plays close to where I live. It's well known that he wants to go to Bama.
