Attrition has a little to do with recruiting. Part of the recruiting process is evaluation. If you don't properly evaluate skill, academics, character, and otherwise then you will have a lot of attrition.

Sure, it's related, but it by definition isn't a part of recruiting.

Recruiting is the process by which you get guys to sign their LOIs. That's it.

I think we've got the edge at WR, LB, and special teams.

WR? probably LB? no way. we are returning every starter including Lawrence who was one of the best in the SEC. Special teams? Yes minus punt return with banks

We had a pretty solid LB corp this past season but was exposed by an extremely underdeveloped DL and a terrible defensive scheme.

Don't forget about DT Shackleford.

DT Shackleford.

Is he a Sr next season? Did he get a medical hardship?

We return every starter + DT Shackelford who was the defense's best player before tearing his ACL

He was a good one, hate to see anyone with an injury like that

This is why our LB's are better because we do have such a good Dline

He will be a junior. We RS him last year

I'd give state the edge at lb. Marry makes plenty of tackles but is slow and gets beat to the corners. knight is small and a bad pass defender. Bryant played good and hopefully that will continue. It will help to get DT back but its possible he may not fully recover and I think there was talk about moving him down to de to help the line

Thats true. I fully expect DT to be a DE. Especially if we run a 4-2-5.

What happened to the long haired white safety? I don't think he played at all in the egg bowl.

yeah, i'm not sure what DC sees there. Our LBs were the strength of our defense by the end of the season.

He has a bad back injury in the summer and RS this year. I think we RS like 5 sophomores who played a lot as freshman. Weird but I'm glad Nutt did that instead of trying anything to save his job.
