Its obvious youre going just by opinion and not the actual rankings, but I thought that was what we were talkign about. Coonass brought up how state was ranked as his explanation that Mullen doesnt suck at recruiting.

To be honest I think the classes are even now because of attrition, but I wasnt sure that was what we were talking about.

I'm not even talking about rankings I'm talking about players Ole miss and State have both gone after hard, Nutt won more of those battles. You can't tell now because Nutt would have made Cam look like Kevin Fant because players never get better.

This. State fans can no longer hide behind the "we dont have attrition because we turn down questionable grade/character kids with high stars". You wanted Pat Pat. You wanted Tig. You wanted Clarence Jackson. Just because they didnt make it doesnt mean you werent out recruited for them. We want Quay and we want Nick James. You out recruited us for them. So if their issues in HS catch up to them in college and they dont make it, OM fans dont need to follow suit and act like they didnt want those players because of character issues.

If you want to say who Dan got is better now (because of coaching) that's fine but you can't say Dan out recruited Nutt.

we have better players than Mississippi does at every position on the football field- that how I say Mullen outrecruited Nutts.

You guys have a player here and there that is very good- but as a group, we have more talent at every position on the field.

I assume he means even because we will end up even. Half our class isnt committed yet. But yeah if its just about rankings then '10 shouldnt be even.

I'm not a big rankings guy- but that seems to be the only thing Bundy understands.

As I said, we have better players than you do at every position group on the field right now- so we have obviously outrecruited you- regardless of rankings.

You guys have a few good players sprinkled throughout your team, but not enough obviously.

Your 2010 class was ranked higher bc of oos players.

My point is Nutt has won more head to head battles over recruits than Muen. Mullen coached them up while Nutt has his thumb in his arse. So yes you would have players better all over the field but the fact still remains Nutt got more players that Mullen wanted than Mullen got that Nutt wanted.

I'm not arguing the fact that MSU is better by any means..

So youre saying attrition, coaching, and development doesnt have anything to do with that?

Edit: and dont say player evaluation is part of recruiting. No shite. But you offered just about every player that we lost to attrition or didnt hit their potential. We have no RB depth because Tig is fit for a straight jacket. We both wanted him, if he isnt nutts we would be better at RB. Same situation for Pat Pat. If he isnt nutts we have better WR's.

Vick Ballard is a good example from this group. Not rated highly at all- no damn offers out of HS. He didnt help our recruiting rankings any.

Ends up being one of the top RB's in the SEC the last 2 years and will be a 5th-6th round draft pick.

of course it does, but here is where you and I differ. You think recruiting stops when the paper is faxed in.

I think attrition and development are part of recruiting. Seeing guys that are not highly rated like a Vick Ballard or Jonathan Banks- yet will end up drafted- shows that the recruiters know more than the Yancy's and Rosebowl's rating them.

I think problem chilren like PatPat and Tig are part of recruiting- you know going in they may not work out- but sign them anyway. If they dont workout- thats a recruiting mistake for taking that chance. Quay and James will be those guys for us- will they work out or will they go by the wayside? Thats the chance we are taking in recruiting

Yep Delvin Jones. We had three high ranked MS juco's along with Carlos, Sanders, and Martin. Those are our 4 stars. Delvin Jones is the only player four star state wasnt recruiting.

No I agree with you. But you act like State has been better than OM because of diamonds like Banks and Ballard. You had a better OL because of Sherrod and because we lost Rishaw. You had better backs because we lost Tig. You had better WR's because we lost Pat Pat. You had better DL because of four stars Cox, McPhee, and Boyd. You had better LB's because DT got hurt, we lost Clarence, and because of four stars Wright and White. You have much better coaching and much better S&C. Add in we have had horrible luck with very talented players and that is why you have been better. Not because of Ballard and Banks or other diamonds

Recruiting is getting players to come to your school over others. By that definition Nutt beat Mullen. The thing is Mullen ran circles around Nutt in player development but don't say you didn't want Tig, Pat, Sanders, Thompson, Brassel, Singleton, Moncreif etc. Just like we wanted PJ, Bumphis etc. We just won the battle more times.

That is all I'm trying to say.
