This dude looks like he can be good, but he's no Clowney. Clowney stuck out like a sore thumb in HS, Burch doesn't (granted, I've only seen that one game).

Burch is 6'6 280, he looks like a man among boys at Hammond, he may not have the film like Clowney did, but he has the size and speed.

A lot of kids would look like they have the size and speed in SCISA (he doesn't have Clowney's speed), but he's playing with a bunch of private school rich kids that probably average 150lbs.
He played that one game on ESPN against good competition and was nowhere to be seen.

Well he didn't get to be rated the #3 overall prospect in the country by being slow. Guy is the next Clowney you heard it here first.

Will you still think he is the next Clowney when he goes to LSU, UGA or Clemson?

Speaking of Clowney what a legend he could have been had he basically not quit his junior season. He was a monster his freshman and sophomore years.

That was after Lattimore's injury, I can't blame him. After seeing a teammates career end before he was able to get paid in the NFL, he probably had that in the back of his mind.

As for Burch, we have to keep the top players in the state home. Just continues the trend of the top player in the state of SC signing with the Gamecocks.

Not just that but "The Hit" was both the best and worst thing to happen to Clowney's collegiate career.

On the one hand it soared him into the national spotlight and really raised his profile for the draft.

On the other had it soared him into the spotlight of every team we played that year and he was always getting doubled and tripled. I think fear of injury/knowing he would never get punished or be benched + getting tired of all the double teams is why we saw the Clowney we did his JR. year.

FWIW, Gamecocks are still the clear leaders for Burch, everyone else is looking up.
