Saw that. If all 3 end up signing with Bama, wow, what an OL haul that will be.

Never thought I'd be pulling for that pussy Herman to get recruits.

From what I read on other boards is that Lathams mother likes Saban while his dad likes OSU. Since he lives with his mom this summer then when he goes back to school OSU seems to believe they can flip him when he goes to make his visit. The inability to visit campus is why he hasn't already committed to OSU. This is far from over, and with the Brockermeyers on committment watch, I think this will also affect lathams decision. Yes, OSU has an overstocked OL but still, if Saban told latham that "he was the man" and then both Brockermeyers commit, then I'd have to do some serious thinking.
What really concerns me though is Garrett Denlinger and LSU. Allen Trieu has already heard rumbling about a possible commit to OSU. IMO I like Denlinger better than Latham and I would hate to lose him. Makes sense though that they would put the full court press on him though as he is almost as highly rated and OSU is still in his top 4. Will be interesting but I have a bad feeling about this.

Sorry, but I don't believe that for one minute. Recruits families have a big say in their childs decision../..it happens all the time. Denlinger has been cb'd to LSU for a long time, just like Latham was to OSU. They change all the time depending on circumstances. Denlinger, because of Latham, was pursued, but not heavily by OSU. He will be now if they lose Latham. As I said, I like Denlinger very much and am overjoyed with his being cb'd to LSU, but recruiting changes very, very quickly and I have a bad feeling.

Lol maybe some but I bet a lot of these kids make their own decisions especially kids from the inner city. I know my mom was just happy I was going to college didn't care where. Probably the same for a lot of them.

I just know things changed when he went back to living with his mom in Chicago.
Kids make decisions for themselves but of course their families have a say. I will say there was a lot of talk about how OSU had a lot of good tackles on the roster and Latham himself even mentioned that. If Brockermeyer goes to Bama this year, that's about even with paris johnson from last season.
Let's see if he commits this week, or if he thinks more. I was sure he was a kid who was going to take his visits (and still may) even when he was leaning towards OSU.

I mean that's from today; obviously if his kid wants to commit to Bama then he should support him (just like all parents should do).
It's pretty much consensus that his mom has been the one who has liked Bama the longest.
LINK
It's not a big deal and if he ends up at Bama good for him and I wish him well. But to show me a link from today that indicates his dad has been all in for a long time is not valid

Perhaps JC's dad was previously favoring OSU but has shifted more toward Bama. There's a lot to like about what both schools and football programs offer for his sons. Perhaps Bama winning the recruiting battle has very little to do with JC living with his mom lately.

Interesting Link.... I know it always stings a little to lose a highly rated player but I get the feeling that its not that huge a setback because of their incredible depth. I

Sure hope all this doesn't backfire. Hope these kids come to Bama. I still remember all the talk about a certain TE last year that ended up going somewhere else.

There is always a chance for things to boomerang..so many variables involved.

Our history with 5-star tackles is pretty incredible
2006 - #1 Andre Smith, 1st round pick (#6 overall)
2008 - #23 Tyler Love, undrafted
2009 - #30 DJ Fluker, 1st round pick (#11 overall)
2011 - #1 Cyrus Kouandjio, 2nd round pick (#44 overall)
2014 - #4 Cam Robinson, 2nd round pick (#34 overall)
2016 - #17 Jonah Williams, 1st round pick (#11 overall)
2017 - #34 Jedrick Wills, 1st round pick (#10 overall)
2017 - #4 Alex Leatherwood, ? (will be a 1st round pick)
2019 - #7 Evan Neal, ?
Of the seven 5-star left tackles that have come of age during the Saban era, 6 have been drafted (all in the top 50 picks), 4 drafted in the 1st round and 4 in the first 11 picks.
Pretty good hit rate.

Just stop showing your ignorance. You continue to sound like someone who doesn't know anything but trying to throw stuff against a wall and see if it sticks.

Congrats on Latham but until O gets the twins on campus I will not concede them to Bama just yet
