Is being recruited by UGA and UT. UNC is really high on this guy. How do the SEC teams feel about him?

UGA is looking to take two qbs and he's qb #2 behind Raiola and Pugs.

Thanks, looking like Raiola to Nebraska but if Merk wants less competition, perhaps he'll choose UNC.

We’ll see. The UGA side still feels pretty good about our odds in landing him.
I think Merk ends up at UNC either way.

Likely a UNC/Tennessee battle and Georgia a threat depending on how their other targets go.
UNC has a big advantage in that Maye will likely be leaving after this year and we will still have Nico for two years minimum. So the quicker path to playing is UNC

Merklinger scares me a little as a QB1. I grew up in Savannah. Calvary is a very small school at a weak competition level. I'd feel better about him if he was the QB at Benedictine; they play 4A and are a legit powerhouse.
Outside of BC, Savannah football just isn't very good at all.

Is Merklinger that talented or does his teammate, Michael Smith a 4* TE, make him look that good?

Looks to be closing in on a decision. Wiltfong with a crystal ball this morning to Tennessee.

UT taking both so it don’t matter.
