Really? LSU is about to get jack shite in '13, don't see why it's delusional to think you are going come in the year after that and just cherry pick.
Because there is a lot more mutual interest in both parties next year. You understand no one year is equivalent to the next, yes?
Just because we dont take a Texas kid 1 year doesn't mean we wont take one ever again. There is a lot of high interest between LSU and a few great 2014 TX players...highly doubt Paris is the only one we land. I know aTm fans are on a high and mighty spree right now, but guess what, that wont last forever either.

I'll say this now: LSU might land Paris, but that will be the only elite Texas talent they land in '14.
Sorry but our guys started investing in him. He'll be an Ag if we want him. If not, maybe he'll go to LSU. But again, we'll dictate the terms upon which LSU lands Texas players--as usual.

good god

Other than Paris and Brown, why elite Teas kid has shown high interest?
"Good God" me all you want, the fact is y'all didn't do anything in '12 and '13, and you sure won't waltzing into Texas to take kids from Sumlin in '14.
That's just the reality of the situation. The state is absolutely ate up with Texas A&M.

It must be that those guys weren't very good, huh?
I mean, that's the only explanation for why they didn't end up at LSU, right?

Good Lord go back to Tex Ags, ignoramus #1.

Well, I'll reveal a little fact to you as well, the reality is A&M isn't exactly on the same level as far as program prestige as LSU.
And, I know the truth is hard for you to see, but LSU has been taking guys from A&M for years.....its kind of what happens when you win CHAMPIONSHIPS and go to BCS games regularly.

I guess I'm missing where A&M has any DB's at all in the NFL who even start.
They have 2 DB's in the NFL period and both are back ups.

in-state LA class is just kind of good if you haven't noticed. nabbing 2 top 10 kids in TX would be a nice bonus, not a necessity.
while now much harder, LSU will still have more success in TX than A&M will have in LA

Um, really?
Hunter was a 4-star kid who a bunch of schools wanted and were pissed to find out when he committed to LSU. We also took Corey Thompson straight from A&M. We also got Jalen Mills who was a freshman all american and started at CB for us this all year this year.
Looks we did quite well in Texas in 2012.

Once again, pure, Ag, delusion.

No one offered Mills/Hunter.
You took Thompson because of the transition.
IIRC, Sumlin actually took someone from Miles. Is that right?
And of course your staff went all-in for RSJ.

again, i'll be very pleased with a few top TX kids
on the other hand, you'll likely get 0 LA recruits that LSU pushes for next year

It's really obvious you don't follow recruiting much.

Not exactly. I'm pretty sure they've laid off him recently, and obviously won't devote much time at all for the next 2 months.
All-in would be recruiting a guy as much as possible from the moment you can recruit him until the moment he signs. LSU isn't close to "All-in" with RSJ. They have other positions of need to take care of. Reuben Foster is a guy LSU will hit heavy for the next 2 months I imagine, and he's going to be far more valuable considering his position to LSU.
LSU has never had trouble getting WR's, they've loaded up well and I'm sure they will continue with it.

This thread's great fun.
And for the person who asked, yes, Kyrion Parker was committed to LSU. Then he got the offer he wanted.
I agree that LSU is no longer "all in" on RSJ. But before he made it clear that he was headed to Aggieland, Les and co. did all they could to convince playing for an anemic offense really isn't that bad.
But for someone who follows recruiting so closely, you should know that LSU made an in-home 2 weeks ago. Of course that was when they informed him they were laying off, right? Because making visits is the most appropriate to let a kid know "we've moved on."
Fortunately for us, he's an Aggie.
Trey Quinn will make a wonderful complement for RSJ.
Again, thread's great fun.

He's white, so he would fit better at A&M anyways.

all of a sudden LSU will be lucky to get anyone from TX since the only way we have a chance is since A&M is letting us have them and they lead for a kid who has been an LSU fan his whole life & exploring his options.
A&M fans seem to have an over-inflated view of themselves. i can't imagine how bad it'll be once they actually achieve sustained success
great fun indeed
