It seems these days that when State gets a 3 star WR with several power 5 offers, there is a meh feeling but:

Not very long ago, State was losing these to other programs. Even three star guys State is taking have other Power 5 offers including SEC offers. That wasn't always the case. I think State has one guy without other SEC offers and that's a large framed OT. I think we all know they are the toughest to project how they will do at the next level. I think most OL guys are projects except the elite 5 star guys.

Janorris is a good get for sure, I do think you will see him contributing.

Nice pick up.

Did you see Missouri overall players stars rating and is currently 13th in the SEC? That is how much better Drinkwitz is right now! I am very happy with Drinkwitz as Missouri HC.

I don't look at Missouri very often.

I see he has 7 commits and 3 guys that could play for anyone. Then several mid 3 star guys but all those mid 3 star guys have good power 5 offers.

That's always a good sign for us non-elite recruiting places.

State still has it's highest targets yet to commit. If State gets what I expect them to get, this year may be the best class Mississippi State has had in my memory.

Despite putting animals in the league for decades, these woke arse recruiting outfits overlook the majority of MS kids every year. An MSU commit rarely goes up in rankings and usually moves downward from the time of commitment. Sounds like a broken record but it continues to hold true.

I do not disagree.

I remember when Chris Jones was a Jr/SR in my home town. He wasn't even rated. Dan Mullen would not even send anyone to see him play, 40 minutes away from Starkville. One of the locals had to take him to a camp. After that, he blew up and that Bama offer came. He was properly evaluated and became a 5 star and the hot topic of the day. Nothing really changed other than Bama offered, so they finally took a good look at him. He was always a special talent.

I don't think it's so much the Bama bump but they get the eyes on them when they offer. There will be some small school guys that don't get that offer that may not be quite as good but certainly closer that they are rated at times.

Not too long ago someone posted the total players ranked by stars on the rosters. Missouri had like 6 or 7 I do not remember. Drinkwitz already have 3 4* recruits committed. That is how much better. The HC is and Missouri will need another 2 or 3 years to actually get his players on the field and make a huge impact. Odom was a huge disappointment when he was Missouri HC. Look at Kentucky. Kentucky also making a huge impact by getting 4* recruits. Huge improvement and the football program is much better than it was in a very very long time. They key is getting the right HC that can coach and recruit 4* HS players.

Gonna guess the Tennessee offer isn't valid since Proot is gone. Looks like a prospect who got a bigger offer and jumped on it.
