Top transfer QB Jamie Newman supposedly has Georgia as the top destination. Announcing some time this weekend.

If you ask Dawgnation, you don't have to wait for the weekend...

FYI, they had to publish an apology tweet. They're claiming they made articles about him both selecting and not selecting but accidentally published one. You can decide

I think he’s a much better option than Brice for UGA, but the Dawgs need to pump the breaks that he’s a ready made heisman. Good luck to the kid

Nobody has said that. He looks like a solid qb, and he is better than any other option we have right now.

Yes they have in the State of Ga (where I live) but I appreciate it’s just offseason talk radio where they are trying to make everything a big deal, and nothing more.

But again, main point being, if I was a UGA fan, I’d be much happier with Newman than Chase Brice

LOL what? No dawg fan is expecting a heisman. We just need an serviceable QB. Our current other options are a true freshman, a true sophomore that just had a brain surgery, and a former walk on QB.

I think he’s a good player. Haters point to the end of the season but he was in and out of the lineup the last 5 games with injuries. I only question whether the Georgia offensive staff can utilize his dual threat ability.

Live in Winston and everyone raves about the kid. He was battling injuries at the end of the season and his offense was practically dying around him as well. Lot of people really think he is a solid QB with a lot of potential with decent oline and wrs to throw to.

... WTF. Can you show me where a reasonably normal poster has said this. I'm sure there's some frick stains on the Rant that might have gone overboard, but no one is predicting this. Simply that as far as grad transfers go, he's probably as good as we could have hoped for.

Not to mention he didn't have Surratt (1000 yard receiver without playing the final 4 games or so) or 2 other receivers for those games.

All my Wake Forest buddies are high on him. They're ok in that they get Hartman back from injury, so the room was going to be crowded... but to a man they all were raving about him.

Who knows... Fromm gets a lot of inexplicable hate both from a decent portion of our fanbase but especially rivals on these boards. I'd be hard pressed to say I definitely think he's "better" outright, but he might be better for the offense we need to be moving toward. If Newman forces Stubborn arse Kirby to modernize our offensive philosophy and/or adjust our offensive staff, he'll be worth it, regardless of the infield results in 2020.

Yeah, I went to Wake. He is good when healthy. Good stop gap and IMO, will perform better than Fromm.

You are confused. It was auburn fans who hyped up Jeremy Johnson to heisman levels.

Probably better than 2019 Fromm.
