Blew up at LSU camp and they really liked him. Congrats Dawgs

Georgia worked this one really good behind the scenes. But LSU hadn’t heard anything good or bad about him in some time.

Kid must want to ride the pine instead of competing for a starting spot next year. To each their own

LSU is DBU no longer.

Haven't been for 5 or 6 years.

He said in an interview on On3 that Georgia sold him on development with an expectation to compete for a starring role by his junior year. So sounds like he has realistic expectations.

what makes you think he doesn’t want to compete for a starting spot at UGA next year?

Yeah no longer that we are transfer portal DBU and that's not a good thing because all we pull from that is avg players at best. This LSU coaching staff when it comes to recruiting top notch recruits is not very good.

Our transfer DB class was excellent last year, and our DB's performed exceptionally well considering that Corey Raymond left the depth chart empty.

Losing this one sucks!
Congrats Dawgs.

He always seemed to have great DB's, but the last couple of years he was at LSU the secondary looked lost. I couldn't decide if he was all recruiting and couldn't develop, or if maybe it was the scheme the DC insisted on running that left the secondary vulnerable.
Georgia tried to hire him away from LSU at one point. It looks as if we dodged a bullet.

Yeah saw it coming and we already have him replaced

Raymond was still recruiting well, just not coaching or developing well. His players also started the trend of sitting out that infected LSU for 3 or 4 years.
Georgia's better off with whoever they have.
Good get on Ondre Evans. He wasn't the best corner in our class, but we wanted him. Just sucks that Steeples pretty much discovered him and he left as soon as he got the Georgia offer.

I wouldn’t trade Fran Brown for any DB coach in CFB right now. I just hope we can hold on to him a little longer. Somebody is going to offer him a DC slot sooner rather than later.

If LSU makes a move in the off-season, I think Chevis Jackson would make a great hire.
I'm not even sold on Steeples being a bad coach yet. He's young, and I think LSU's issues are more scheme-related.
Cooks can take a hike though.
