A few months ago I was jokingly making fun of Gator recruitment but I knew they had a decent amount of big time targets leaning completely toward Florida. I figured by mid season the gators would be top 10.

However, now your recruitment ranking is even worse than a few months ago because of a few defects. The Gators are currently ranked 61 in the nation and 13/14 in the SEC on the 247 composite. Some of of your 5 star targets that were 100% gator seem genuinely interested in other schools. Your best committed recruit in the state of Florida is ranked 57th. Fricking Kentucky is out-recruiting the Gators in Florida.

I know the Gator are down but I don't understand how you are getting ejected out of Florida. You are a football power with a lot of cash, some of the best facilities in the country, and play in the #1 conference in college football. That alone should get a decent class every year. Even during the Ron Zook era you still recruited well.

I know its still early but even if you pull in some of the big time targets your class isn't looking good.

Gators, What are your guys saying about the abysmal Gator recruitment effort?

If Muschamp is really scaring away recruits this badly, you need to fire his arse right now.

*I am curious this is not some troll post. It just boggles my mind. I feel like a special needs child would be recruiting better at this point.

One small quibble: the Gator facilities are not elite. Fairly pedestrian as these things go nowadays. That's one of the criticisms some Gator fans have about Foley is how their facilities re falling behind in the arms race*.

*have no idea if reno/construction is planned and on the way.

Athletic dorms are in the process of being renovated.
Foley has put out a proposal for an IPF, so UF will have one for the new regime more than likely.

To the OP, UF doesn't have a HC right now. Not sure what people expect. Everybody knows these players rarely ever commit to a school. They will commit to a coach they like or the HC. Nobody at UF has a job right now. The new HC will conduct exit interviews and that will likely decide the recruiting class, along with whatever interest he can drum up from recruits.

All it will take is a homerun hire and they are right back to recruiting at a high level. Someone like Chip Kelly or another proven winner and the recruiting will handle itself. Still lots of kids in Florida that grew up watching the great Florida teams that would be interested in going if they fix the internal issues.

I agree. UF can still finish top 10-15 this yr IF they make a splash hire.

If not, it will be a throw away class outside of a few guys. Which is very typical for the first class of most new coaches.

Cowart is still a UF lean, right?

I think so. Mainly because of his mom. Think she really wants him at UF no matter the coach.

I'll be honest though, I have really stepped away from recruiting this year. From my perspective, it's just pointless to follow right now. Too many things will be changing to get caught up in it at this point.

Recruiting this year was going to mirror UF's season.

It's no surprise at this point.

UF's 2015 recruiting will depend completely on who the new coach is.

Even then, it won't be nearly as good as it could have been.

Oh well.

shits a mess right now and it might stay that way but we could easily scoop a couple five stars in the end like cece, ivey, & cowart i dont know if any are bigger then ivey tho we need a tackle DL is actually pretty loaded

Gators need to consider George O'Leary

He'd JUMP at the chance

His Notre Dame resume is ancient history

He beat Georgia on a regular basis

He has gotten a directional school in the national conversation

And he knows recruiting in the area - would be a home run hire

yes - find a better coach with a better winning track record that is as intimately familiar with recruiting in the Sunshine State

George was DC on Bobby Ross' national championship team and had the Yellow Jackets in the top 10 for several years

UCF is part of the discussion right now - who is a better fit?

Boom is officially gone at the end of the season. That being the case how does it effect the recruiting races for some of their commits/leans now?

Wtf kind of list is this? Mullen is the only one on here that would be considered. Chip Kelly, Mike Shannahan, and Harbaugh would be the best hires. Even tho I think Shanahan is a horrible coach
