Scarbo. Article
If most of the biggest names left on Auburn's big board pick up that baton and run away from the Tigers, and they don't finish with the typical big bounce of a national champion a year removed, have the terrorists won?
And by terrorists, I don't mean terrorists. I mean the rag-tag militia of bloggers, posters and callers who predicted Armageddon for the Auburn program almost daily from Nov. 4, 2010, through Oct. 12, 2011.
From the night the world learned that Cecil Newton knew Kenny Rogers to the day it discovered that the NCAA had closed its wide-ranging Auburn probe without alleging any major violations, it was easy for a recruit to wonder about the future of the program.
In short, Auburn spent almost 12 months recruiting under a cloud. Did that cloud overshadow the reflection from the crystal football Auburn won with Cam Newton at quarterback?

Clearly it won't have anything to do with the fact that y'all were without an OC/DC during the heart of the recruiting season and Chizik wouldn't even commit to which system you'd be running on either side of the ball.
Trying to recruit national level recruits without coordinators is about the best recipe for a horrible signing day I can think of.

All the people who know football Bama fans or not knew all of this the day Auburn hired Gene Chizik. So not sure why some are thinking of jumping off the Chizik ship now.Cam and the rest of the coaching staff had the wool pulled over the eyes of the entire Auburn fanbase
