Honest question: do y'all still think we are paying recruits/players? I'm talking more than the standard hundred dollar handshakes, those happen everywhere and will always happen. I'm talking the serious, booster slush-fund, give-a-kid-a-car kind of paying like we were doing back in the 80's.
Not too long ago I was 100% convinced we were and that we paid Cam, but it seems like more and more stuff is coming out that seems to say otherwise.
Reading the NCAA report that was released back in October makes it seem like we didn't, because it makes a pretty hard case against MSU and just MSU, and why it didn't translate over here.
I figure this is just as good a place as any to post this, because if I do it on the SECr or the SECrb proper, it'll be filled with tons of gumps and rantards that will derail the discussion.

I think Cecil asked, and if someone paid him, they did a really good job of hiding it. I also think that if that happened, it doesn't happen now. I think Auburn, Alabama, LSU, etc, all have about the same level of dirty deeds transpiring, and that it's no different than any other major program that functions under the same guidelines.
I also think in a weird way, all of the Cam crap made everyone with any sense realize that we needn't keep trying to get each other in trouble. I think all of us are tired of the bullshite.

The way it works is a rich booster has players to which he "takes care of". The coaches nor the ADs know nothing. It would be hard to break the code. This was done a lot during CPB stay at Bama. But all big schools did it to some degree. I would think it goes on today.
