Virginia Tech is an 8-4 team at best.

Man, the only people who are saying it's acceptable are those who didn't actually watch the game. Virginia Tech is not that good, they're certainly not elite. But they made FSU look stupid on multiple occasions and predicted their offense with ease. I mean, with ease. They were almost never taken by surprise, got three picks, two fumble recoveries.

They whipped FSU up and down the field, and worse of all? They did it as an away team with exponentially less talent.

Florida State didn't lose this bad to Alabama last year at a fricking neutral site.

Taggart got boat raced in his first game at usf. You guys said UF was back in 2015 after Mac beat some bad teams. It's one game. I'm not shocked you're still butthurt after all this time.

VT is going to contend for the ACC and that game will have zero impact on FSUs recruiting except give Taggart more ammo to recruits by telling them he needs them

What? Va tech played great. They got 300+ yards on a good FSU defense and their defense forced 5 turnovers.

Yes. It was what I expected. A new coach, with a QB who hadn't played in a year against a great defenses coached by a HOF DC and a head coach in his 3rd year. Plenty of people blasted Meyer after he got trounced by Mike Shula 31-3. Was it a good debut? No. Does it mean Taggart is in over his head? No. That OL is trash and they lost 3 of them during the game. The worst position on both our teams

You really don't think that VA Tech completely worked Taggart at home during a night game? I mean I'm not sure what your argument is.

What do you think Taggart's entire job before the season is? Virginia Tech beat them worse at home than a Championship Alabama team at a neutral site

How on Earth are you excusing that beyond Taggart not being even a lick prepared?

No I'm saying the he's a bust talk is ridiculous. The biggest improvement for a new staff is from the end of year 1 to year 2. The game only told me fuente and foster are great coaches and Taggart has a lot to fix. Va tech also got all the lucky bounces. FSU will win 7-8 games with that OL.

I see Taggert as a recruiter but I question his coaching abilities

I thought yesterday showcased how clueless that staff was, blind leading the blind. He better get it together if not that recruiting class will be falling apart by the end of the year.

I don't think VT is bad, I like Fuente, its still too early to tell but it doesn't take away from the fact that FSU was horrific to open the year.

FSU still has plenty of talent on that roster, its not disputable. The coach was clueless and unprepared opening night, and his team rolled over

This is undeniable to anyone who actually watched the game. He got completely outcoached even though the other team didn't have as much talent, with the advantage of a home game.

Word for word what I said. They never looked like a cohesive team, and it's not something that a few weeks is going to fix. Every position obviously lacked the fundamentals.

I have no idea what TJ was seeing.

For perspective:

quote:

How bad was Willie Taggart’s debut? Of FSU’s 63 offensive plays, 35 went for zero or negative yards, including a whopping minus-7 yards in the third quarter. Woof.

No, you definitely have me in the grasp of a wildly successful defense of a coach with a losing record who just got blown out at home in a blackout night game season opener where his team looked completely unprepared on offense, defense and special teams.

Who had more turnovers than points.

Who went 1 - 4 (FG) in/near the red zone.

Who failed to score a touchdown for the first time in 10 years.

Who had the worst opening of any FSU coach since 1978. (Including opening games vs. Clemson and Alabama)

You got me.

No, TJ. A staff at a perennial powerhouse like Florida State where they regularly outrecruited a team like VA Tech got the everloving frick beaten out of them at home at a night game.

They were one of two teams who couldn't score a fricking touchdown in Division I football -- Western Kentucky was the other one, ironically his ex-job.

What I love the most out of this? You don't even deny that you're an FSU fan which I alluded to in the meme. Good times, man. Told you you'd be crying when your team and snake of an HC got exposed.

Taggart looked exactly what he is, a sub. 500 coach. His team look unprepared and poorly coached. His offensive play calling was abysmal. He's all style (recruiting) and no substance. And TJ is probably one of the glitter twins.

Saban got out coached by ULM.
Patterson by NorthwesternSt
Kelly by boise

You're delusional af. I'm not an FSU fan and choose to not address it because you're retarded. Me not acknowledging something doesn't make it true. Idiot. If you don't expect a new staff to struggle against a hof dc and great HC in fuentes who's in his 3rd year I don't know what to tell you. I'm not crying I'm just laughing at you're right only after week 1 in year 1 of Taggarts time at FSU. It's like if I ragged on mullen for only getting 400+ yards against a hs team or that the run game didn't look good. You know why I don't? Because it's week fricking 1.

Oh, Taggart's the new Patterson/Saban/Kelly?

Print the shirts.

We get a recruit and you come here to defend big slick Willie, it's typical TJNole.
