If they can get any effort out of him on the field or off, good for them. He runs like he's in quicksand, but that may be a byproduct of being too high to move his legs most of the time.

I honestly don't see him doing anything at Alabama. They're going to have athletes as good or better at his position but that will actually try.

He will have an opportunity to come in and contribute right away, as we lose our top 6 DBs this year. One thing I’ve learned from watching Coach Saban recruit - if he offers a JUCO player, he believes that player will have an instant impact. We generally don’t waste scholarships on project players from the JUCO realm.

He had a huge season in Juco. He just needed to mature a little bit. It happens with a lot of guys. Bama has had it's share of guys who needed time to mature.

Did he? I watched him early on and it was like he wasn't even trying. Got burned multiple times against EMCC. Made some dumb mistakes in the return game too.

He's very talented, but with his weed problem (probably not an issue at Alabama though) and effort problem Saban has his work cut out for him.

He needs to go to a place where drug tests don't matter.

Thanks, but there are a lot of crying from your 7su brethren. Guess they cant get over anyone who leaves them, acting like a bunch of scorned ex girlfriends.

crying over losing savion smith? dude, he played about 2 minutes while he was here. kid got tossed off the team because O wouldn't tolerate his failed drug test bullshite. his whole "transfer" idea wasn't his "personal decision".

i can promise you us lsu fans do no care that you just got a problem kid

Will fit in nicely at Alabama where Saban cares zero about what they do off the field.

Good for him. Drug test won’t be an issue there.

LSU fans aren't crying over this. We know what we have, what we have coming in, and where on the depth chart he would have been. He has/had a drug addiction. He failed a slew of tests. He was told he was going to be suspended a significant amount of games as punishment and instead of serving his deserved punishment opted to transfer to a JUCO.

He ran away from his troubles and faced zero consequences short of having to relocate.

Smith is the one that went out of his way on twitter to make his feelings known.

I'm not gonna sit here and wish him luck at Alabama, because frankly why? It's not like Bama needs more luck.

Instead, I'll hope he has his head on straight and can leave past demons alone.

Right on time.
