Hubbs said Lawson told our coaches he was coming to UT after his visit. I've seen a number of people poke fun at the Lawson to UT situation on here, but the fact was that we almost pried him away.

Put it this way; anyone who thought Carl Lawson would eventually sign with Tennessee was just as misinformed as anyone who thought Dee Liner would sign with Auburn.

Thats an ignorant statement. Hindsight is 20/20, but there was a reason half the writers at Rivals were predicting him to UT.
Who cares at this point, the papers are signed and that's all that matters. Kudos to Auburn for landing him and keeping him committed.

Oh and major props to him for this. Recruiting wouldn't be near as maddening if everyone was like Lawson. I do hope the kid does well at Auburn but this should tell you the smoke with Tennessee was real. Lawson didnt play games and was torn towards the end, I believe, but he did it the right way and committed to a school, not a staff.
Again, kudos.
