A three-star recruit, Nicholson is ranked by 247 Sports as the No. 1 junior college cornerback in America. He is the fifth-ranked overall JUCO prospect in the country according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings.
Nicholson fits the build of Stoops defensive backs. A 6-foot-3, 200-pound athlete, new secondary coach Chris Collins served as his primary recruiter. Previously committed to Mississippi State, he chose the Wildcats over the Bulldogs, Florida State and Baylor, among others.

He has only played 2 games at CB in JUCO after moving to defense from QB. Not sure how he could be the #1 already but nobody cares about JUCO rankings

I looked into this guy a good bit when he committed to State. I was curious as to why he wasn't rated with his measurables being what they are. He has since been rated.
The dude is a helluva athlete. He wanted to play QB and that was just not working out. He just changed over to DB over the summer or back in the spring and has a lot to learn. I think he was given a choice to go to WR or DB. I don't know why he picked DB, I can only speculate.
He is a JuCo guy and doesn't have a lot of film on him so his offer list may be shorter than one would expect with his measurables.
I would be interested to see how well he does this year playing defense for the first time. Can he tackle, does get zone schemes, fight through blocks, ball skills when in the air, can he turn his hips, etc... All those things that he has never done before or not since HS.
I will say this, I think every camp he went to, he got an offer. He must have shown something in those camps.

Happens all the time with jucos. It's kind of a built in advantage for us, but we obviously can't get everyone we want. We've had some greats come out of MS jucos.
