According to the 2010 census, every county in the Delta lost population. Lamar and Forrest counties in which Hattiesburg is located had one the 2nd highest population growth in the State of MS.

Seems to me the more inside of Mississippi you get the worse things are. The edges are the best parts.

DeSoto county is cool if you're into getting married and raising kids and in the process doing nothing until you die.
At least you get to experience it in a nice neighborhood while you're at it.
