Just read this crazy stat from Justin Rowland at Rivals.

UK is now averaging around 3.44 stars a recruit. That’s a higher commit average than Michigan, Florida State, and Washington. And they’re still after some big targets for signing day.

To further emphasize how big of a deal that is, in 2012 (Joker’s last year), the average was 2.88.

Of his 18 signees today, only 3 are from the state of Kentucky. Stoops understands that you have to recruit nationally to complete there...and he is doing a really solid job of doing so.
