Well thats not even close. He’s the 6th ranked snapper through Rubio who won the last camp. Generally the committed guys stop competing that year…

Im a big fan of snappers though, its an insane skill that is judged just brutally.

I was just going by what the linked article says...

Yea, not sure…they have him ranked #6 and I thought they just updated them. IDK the Sailor/Rubio rankings, my son’s always done the Kohl’s side.

Love coach Schoonie and coach Shex. They were the first to offer my son and it was pretty amazing to see him light up during the conversation. Dream come true. We’ll see how it all works out.

Specialists are ‘special’ in that regard. There are multiple camps that offer ratings, the two main ones are Chris Sailor (Rubio) and Kohl’s, and they generally rank out twice a year (January and July). Sometimes a specialist can keep #1 a while, and sometimes its just 1/2 a year. Generally there a few “#1 in the country” specialists, in each discipline each year. Once a #1 commits they often lose focus on the rankings, so it’ll be someone else’s turn (whether they stop going to camps or just get beat).

5 star for specialists is much funnier…both ranking service offers them, but pretty sure there are kids who just claim it to be true and roll like that on twitter.

You gave a fricking long-snapper a scholarship?

In the specialist world offer does not equal scholarship. I couldn’t read the article, but more likely NIL + PWO. Not impossible, but here’s the list from the other ranking service.

This isn’t 100% accurate with PWO vs Scholarship…but its closer than Rubio’s.

I didn't give anyone a scholarship. But thank you for your continued interest in Ole Miss athletics.
