You dont find it interesting that these programs know exactly what Bama is doing but choose not to do it anyway?
I mean frick, dont get me wrong I wish we would.
I doubt LSU knows exactly how Bama's players are counted toward NCAA limits. But maybe LSU can figure out how to take advantage of the voluntary withdrawal exception rule. It's not easy though. It requires an unsigned recruit willing to pay their own way as a walkon for their 1st term. Also, to avoid having to be a walkon for a year to qualify, the player he replaces must've withdrawn before the prior fall term & FB season.

But the Bama fans here do?
I've been documenting it since 2017/18 in the first-page posts of our pinned recruiting thread. It's tedious and time-consuming, partly because UA doesn't disclose all of the details. So TWatts (BOL) won't talk about private details even if he learns them.

What Alabama is doing is not illegal. LSU is more than welcome to follow Saban's lead
Everyone else would get busted for under the table paying a guy to “walk on”

Player specifics? Well no thats not public information. But from a numbers standpoint? Of course they do. Are you insinuating that Alabama is the only program that understands how to game the limits?
quote:Yes a very difficult proposition that Bama consistently and successfully gets 4 star recruits to abide by.

But I figure their compliance staff might've figured out how to take advantage of the voluntary withdrawal replacement scholarship "loophole."
Yet programs are eating transfer scholarships when they dont have to. You dont see anything that could potentially be unethical with the practice of voluntary withdrawals?

For the three kids I know for sure did it, the cost of one miniterm is chump change. Since those three, this cycle appears to be the first time UA might need that option to take anyone else. It's also possible more have already been done to preserve signing and initial counter spot(s).

For the 300,000 Thomas senior will be getting.......yeah
Not even you will believe that a dad wanting 300,000 dollars will instead agree to nothing and pay to walk on

Maybe he'll spend a smidgen of his LSU or A&M bag$ on BTJ's 1st summer miniterm at UA.

This doesnt absolve the question because you know of three kids that can afford it because its way more than 3 and its not just one cycle.

WRONG, baw. Since 2017 only 3 have been needed to fit everyone within the annual 25 limits. That's all documented right here in our recruiting thread's 1st-page posts.
Maybe more than 3 have already been done, saving Bama some extra signing and initial counter spots.

You got names of the LSU and A&M bagmen involved in paying BTS?

So if Thomas signs with LSU you admit your program paid $300,000 for him?

It's really is crazy that you guys actually believe the SEC office, and the other 13 schools in the SEC, would allow Saban to continuously (over multiple years) over sign and rake in #1 recruiting classes if he was actually doing something that violated NCAA/SEC bylaws. Heck, last year there were 5 SEC coaches that coached under him, not to mention the assistant coaches and personnel people that have gone to other SEC schools from Bama. They all know exactly what Saban is doing every year in recruiting, and if he was doing something illegal, they'd raise hell about it.

If he goes to Bama and Bama paid for him, when he picks LSU, you better believe you paid a lot for him.
Posted on 2/5/21 at 5:02 pm to Crimsonians
I'm still hoping that the investigations at LSU scare him off and we up our bid and get him. But it's looking like Bama, I think.

He is more valuable at A&M since he would be only the 2nd WR in the class.
I do not want to sound like I am disrespecting the young man's talent or character but this seems like a recruitment that can get a program in big trouble.
4* WR's are not that hard to come by and if he goes to Bama, Jimbo will just take an extra WR this year.
Sumlin used to load up with WR and that got A&M a big buyout to pay.
