UGA dropped the ball grades are just the excuse for the miss

Oh yeah. Most definitely. Can't believe we let him out of his commitment

So you guys think that our coaches took him for the hell of it? You think Nick Saban saw his film and said to hell with all the issues this kid has. There is a plan...REC

Exactly, I feel like I know a hell of a lot more about recruiting than Nicky.

Josh McNeil was "just for the hell of it"
Pretty much the same deal, per UGA reporters

Go believe your site all you want I know the situation personally. Grades were no more an issue than most kids and his spring showed no concerns for qualifying.
In regards to his arrest he got pulled over with a car load of friends and UGA was still on him. That was in October and once it all got cleared up in late November UGA went hard for the commit. At the same time rumors of Bobo leaving who he had developed a relationship with started to cause some concern. UGA tried to contact him in February when your new RB coach was hired but his coach felt UGA might have been going in a different direction. I can also tell you before he came to town last week the UGA staff was in contact with his coach and tried to talk with him to no avail.
And even if your UGA sites were correct they said spring grades would determine if he was good to go. Must have been very good for your staff trying to get back in as of last week.

Then why didn't UGA take his commit until this winter? That's per 247. He tried to commit in the fall.

Don't argue facts with an insider. He knows all.

If we "insiders" actually knew firsthand half the shite we claim to know, we wouldn't be wasting our time on message boards like this

You do know December comes after November or are basic concepts not required for entrance into UGA. As I stated UGA waited until after he got his legal issues cleared up in late November and he committed on December 1st not sure why that is a hard time line to follow

Little puppies have their fur ruffled. Never been an insider and ask any UA regular poster if I have ever claimed to be but since I spent the day last week on Wilson Creek fly fishing with one of the coaches at Freedom HS who I have known for a long time I might have a little insight on a highly rated player UA is after
But hey go pay that sub and believe everything they say as if it is th gospel

Just did a quick search. UGA did not consider him a commit until February per 247.
Emmons said he was committed before the UGA staff considered him as such.

Per ESPN McClendon accepted his commit on December 1st

Don't have any subs. Just know people, same as anyone else that claims to be an insider.

ESPN doesn't know or care what McClendon actually told Emmons.
McClendon also doesn't have the authority to officially accept a commitment. They've got to get approval from Richt first.

Why the hell did you guys take it all if his grades are that fricked up?

Not that it matters b/c I highly doubt BJ Emmons will make or break either team, but there is something off about this timeline. A quick search of "Emmons" on the UGA board shows that. I think he was only listed as a soft commit on 247 and I never saw any moderator who thought he would actually sign with UGA. In fact, I saw a few different mods many months ago say it was highly unlikely he would be in UGA's class. What our mods are saying now is no different than what they were saying months ago. It would seem odd for them to maintain a pointless lie for so long.
Regardless of the circumstance, I think the bolded phrase of the quoted portion is accurate and the crux of the issue - whatever the reason for "going in a different direction" may have been.

Grades didn't seem to be an issue when Bobo was recruiting him. Then Bobo leaves, Emmons waffles on Ga, and now grades seem to be an issue? Funny how that works sometimes.

Funny that he committed after Bobo left and grades were always an issue. Funny how that worked.
