With Kirby, he is such a great recruiter - always has been. But this year he was able to sell playing quickly AND for championships - the perfect storm.

We’ll see how it is when they all hit the field.

UGA didn't quite have the horses to deal with Bama this season. Shaping up to be a Belichick vs Parcells type dynamic going forward.

The last game was one of the more epic SEC battles in a long while.

Can't wait to see how each teams talent develops in the upcoming seasons.

Yep ... now it's time to get'em-in, get'em settled, get'em working in the weight room and then coach'em-up.

Georgia played a couple of epic games that will sorta be remembered for a long time, but off of this one class they will not overtake Bama in (talent on the field). Another year or so like this...well, hopefully there won’t be another year or so like this.

Kirby straight up knocked Saban out of the top 5 in recruiting.

While I think CKS is a tremendous recruiter and IMHO didnt get enough credit for what he did for Bama, I dont think he (CKS) knocked Saban out of the top 5. I think it has more to do w/ scholly limits, rule changes, and more importantly Bamas own success. Bamas roster is and has been loaded forever and they lose several coaches every year. All that ish adds up. I do think Kirby is going to be the most successful Saban disciple however as he studied the longest and seems to have the best work ethic. Also UGA has the financial resources to help w/ extra staff and facilities.

God Damn it... Shut up. Bama won, in 10 years no one will remember a couple of missed calls. We have strung together 2 consecutive top 3 classes for the first time in school history, but that doesn't mean we're immediately more talented than Bama. The future's bright, sure, but cut out the bullshite nonsense.

Dawgs got the majority of bad calls but I don't like leaning on that - we lost - period. We were up 3 in overtime and had Bama 2nd and 26.....the win was right in front of us and Bama made a play. Tip your hat to them and move on.

As far as 2018, Dawgs lost every premier player they had on defense - Roquan, Lorenzo Carter, David Bellamy, Trenton Thompson, most of the secondary and all the linebackers - we could and probably are the favorite to get to the SECCG, but Bama has more players coming back. Dawgs could surprise and get in the playoff, but I wouldn't count on it.

We were pretty much even w/ Bama (almost) as a roster in 2017 but 2018 looks to be more their year.

In 2019 and 2020, we should be on level playing field and probably better than Bama by then.

Alabiker, I think what you said above is mostly fair.

However, Georgia's last two classes are every bit as good - actually slightly better - than Bama's (Bama #6, #1, #1)(Georgia #1, #3) - if you want to throw in three years ago, then Bama(#1) and Georgia(#9) - Kirby had about 30 days on the job. One more great Georgia class and they in fact will be on par with Bama's talent - one more class and it is not even debatable. Of course I am assuming in that one more class that Bama has a great class as well. We know Saban will develop his talent and we can see Kirby is doing well in that department as well.

I wish this were true. It's close but Bamas are slightly better combined.

We are not there yet. This season will be somewhat of a transition year for us. I think we are the clear favorite in the east. We should be favored in every regular season game we play. @Lsu would be the only one that would be in question. Based on what Kirby has done and if he continues at this level, 2019 our roster is as good as their is, including Bama. We are not there yet

As of right now, you cant deny that Bama's 2017 class has been very impressive in one year already. Tua, Jeudy, Harris, Moses, etc.. Georgia's 2018 class looks equal to it, but you have to see it on the field first

Bama-2017
Georgia-2018
Georgia-2017
Bama-2018

Thats where I would have them right now, but you honestly have no clue about all the guys. They are soon to be sophomores or freshmen.

Its going to take that great 2019 class to come close to Bama.

2017 Blue Chip Rankings
Alabama-80%
Ohio State-71%
LSU-65%
Florida State-65%
Georgia-63%

That 17% difference is a lot, and it will take more than one class to surpass or equal them, especially since Georgia lost more talent than Bama did.

For 2017, based on the 2014-17 classes, Bama had 69 players rated .92 or above on 247, while UGA only had 45. For 2018, it is now 67 to 53. This isnt taking any defections into account like Eason, so its flawed.
