A&M had the opportunity to escape it's own limitations with the perfect storm of fortune, but failed to seize it (SEC membership and JFF/'12 success).
Their go to solution has always been money whipping the market and unfortunately that is a recipe for near misses and eternal rebuilds. Short of an unproven visionary that lands in their lap, I can't see the cycle being broken. It comes down to leadership and yes, in their case that void is fueled by "weirdness".
