quote:yes, they are not stock full with talent. And strong isnt saban
Is it so hard to believe that Texas could do something similar
Not to mention playing in a conference where QB play is everything and they don't have one

You seem really intelligent

Also look at the quick turnarounds that Auburn, that your own team had. Is it so hard to believe that Texas could do something similar. I think a whole lot of Strong as a coach a 10 win season in two years is not outside the realm of possiblity IMO.
Next year is gonna be tough for Texas I think. I dont even necessarily think its going to be Strong's fault. They play in an offense-oriented conference and they don't have a QB.
Our QBs are a 5th year senior with no meaningful experience, a SO who just got arrested and a true freshman and I like our situtation exponentially better than Texas. Think about that.

were you? or did you stumble upon a Heisman Trophy winner as a 3 star (I am asking because I have no clue what JFF was ranked)
ETA: to directly above poster ^^^, I don't think strong has to necessarily beat A&M in terms of wins as it is likely going to be a tough transition. However if he does have to say the right things, show a hard nosed tough team and have a big win or two I think a recruiting pitch to in state kids to come play for a rising Texas team would be pretty persuasive.

When you're winning games left and right and work is slow it was a great time waster to get into all of that stuff (kind of like this thread, I have done nothing of substance for the better part of two hours).
Go the frick back to work, fool

I just don't want you to be surprised when all of these phenomenal athletes don't pan out and you revert back to a middle of the conference program. Actually, I do want you to be surprised. frick aggy.
I hope y'all continue to pump sunshine about Strong and run down Aggy and he turns into y'all's own little black Fran. Already one the path.
frick sippy. This rivalry is alive and well, goddammit!

How did his thread explode so quick?
Seriously though if I was a recruit I would not go to either one of those schools. I would go to SMU or Texas Tech, if I was an offensive player. If I was on defense I would probably hope that LSU or Alabama was on my trail.
SMU and Tech is in Power 6 conferences, they are on National TV and Kingsbury, as much as despise the Zorro Tortilla Chuckers, is the right guy for that place.

Manziel was a 3 star, but most people where excited as frick about him coming out of high school. And yes we had more talent on our team in 2012 than Texas does right now. Not to mention they don't have a QB in a league that is all about QB play. There is a pretty damn good chance they wont be good next year. Just like there is a pretty damn good chance we are going to have a rough year next year

Honestly....I have no idea. Every time I think I've seen the last of it, it bobs to the surface once again

That's because you're aggy. This is the same philosophy we all got to hear about how Reggie McNeal was better than VY, how Stephen McGee was better than Colt McCoy. It never ends with you guys. We could have Joe Montana and you could have... Stephen McGee and you'd still convince yourselves that your position was preferable.

I have to run, but I have appreciated everyone's thoughts, even aggy. I'm sure I'll be back on here.
In the end, I hope to see an Longhorn/ Aggie national championship game soon. Would be epic.

I would not go to Texas or aTm, that is just me. It is not about what you think I should do. I rather go to Dallas and have a chance to go to a BCS or playoff game that way than go to Austin and Bryant/College Station. The only reason I would go to Tech is if I was a QB. I can be the big fish in a medium pond and still get drafted and be on AA teams, see Gilbert right now. You guys act like SMU is purgatory to the likes of Coog High, Teammate Killer Juco Vo-Tech, Nerd U, and Tortilla Chucker U.

HAHA! SMU!!! Thanks for taking a break from snorting lines of coke off your BMW dash.
Not even a real school. Get out of here.

Y'all would just try to weasel out of playing us like y'all ducked us in the '12 Cotton Bowl

Not that I blame y'all, of course

Don't let the door hit ya, sip
