Again, while your obsession with your current recruiting ranking is adorable, I can tell you FROM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE that all of that 4 star/ 5 star crap is vastly overrated. Win 10 games next year without your entire team getting arrested, and we can readdress this forum.

I will say this: I don't think Texas wins more than 9 games next year. 10 would be a huge success.

Who is your QB, the one who unfortunately has had a problem with concussions, the true freshman, or the guy who went 1-11 in 2A HS having a game where he went 2-21 for 7 yards?

This is what it all boils down to. I guess it is clear what my opinion is.

It is with that same realistic attitude that I say I do not believe A&M's future is half as bright as many of the sunshine-pumping Corp dorks spout on here.

You realize not all Aggies were Corps members, of course

I agree that their move to the SEC was a boon for A&M, but their unrealistic expectations also survived the move.

Again, not one Aggie has said we'd win the national title next year like you tried to imply earlier. Nice strawman.

In my opinion, unless you truly think a post-Manziel aggy football team is going to win something big in the SEC, I would go with the flagship

Which one? Surely you know there are two in the state of Texas. But I see you tryna troll

Tell me why no team without a top 10 recruiting class has won a NC if they dont mean anything.

awesome, were you alive? I am sure you remember it as Vince Young beat the almighty Trojans in a game that is usually talked about as one of the best title games there has been.

Actually our current class is in the top 10. You must not keep up with recruiting very well.

No, I was responding to your earlier comment about Johnelle.

Poor sail, again.

Of course I remember that, but their title was a long arse time ago. To insinuate that all Texas has to do is win a couple games, which won't be easy for them next year, and everything will go back to the way it was back in 2005 is ridiculous. Texas can come back and they'll start getting recruits, but we are going to keep on getting recruits as well. Its not like we are just going to go away

You mistake my debating the topic with Stonehog as obsession. I actually don't give as much of a damn about recruiting as you do, apparently, with your "YEARS OF EXPERIENCE!!!"

Wait are we keeping recruiting score of head-to-head now? Or are we waiting until the 2016 class? Oh wait 2000-2012 counts but we took a break in 2013-2014...those dont count....2015 no 2016 is when it really matters.

What happened with alabama? Now of course the Saban name was a big part of that. However we won 7 games his first year and came back with the class that got us back to the top.

Also look at the quick turnarounds that Auburn, that your own team had. Is it so hard to believe that Texas could do something similar. I think a whole lot of Strong as a coach a 10 win season in two years is not outside the realm of possiblity IMO.

I admit I got pretty obsessed with rankings back in the day. When you're winning games left and right and work is slow it was a great time waster to get into all of that stuff (kind of like this thread, I have done nothing of substance for the better part of two hours).
But the Garrett Gilbert experience effectively killed my enthusiasm for the rivals/scouts ratings system. We mortgaged three years on that guy (passing up on a host of QBs, yes including Manziel) and it was a disaster.
I just don't want you to be surprised when all of these phenomenal athletes don't pan out and you revert back to a middle of the conference program. Actually, I do want you to be surprised. frick aggy.
