So, Bama just took a commitment from a top 100 player. Interesting to see how that affects the rankings.

Now: Huzzah Bama on top of the April team rankings!

roll tide.
And with the new coach I think texas is back on top. MB clearly wasn't going to get it turned all the way around and Sumlin had a bunch of momentum. It will be interesting to see how the classes shake out after next years season if Strong gets texas show up for the whole season.

Why do you think this? Because he forbade his players from doing the "Hook 'em!" Dude hasnt even coached a game at Texas yet.

I'm not a fan of Texas.
That said, if you polled every recruit, Texas would win in a landslide.
Aggies are stubborn and hate questions like this. As an Auburn person, even though our program is significantly better than Florida's for the moment, Florida would win on this question head to head against Auburn. They're bigger, get more attention, and life in Florida is more interesting to most 18 year olds than life in east Alabama.
Similarly, non-stop coverage on ESPN and celebrities vs. being a star in College Station/Bryan isn't a tough choice to most young people, especially those outside of Texas.

I'm from Austin and will go back as soon as I'm presented with the opportunity.
It's the best city in Texas.
But it's effect on recruits is nominal. However this is a flame thread. And as such any aspect of Texas that directly or indirectly trumps an aspect of Texas A&M--the New York Yankees of tRant--must be emphasized. These are the rules. This is how our brethren cope with their own inferiority to Texas A&M.

Cool story brah. I loved my time at A&M and wouldnt have traded it for anything, I would bet that most aggies would agree with that sentiment. I definitely wouldnt have traded it for some art galleries, bums, and suicide inducing traffic. Obviously those things appeal to the majority of folks, but thats just not my cup of tea.

He couldn't go undefeated in the weakest BCS conference in the history of the organization. Even Bobby Petrino did better than Charlie Strong against better competition.

No, because one of the most recognizable universities got a very hot coach which brings in a whole lot of new excitement.
A&M just finished up with a subpar record with arguably the best player in college football coming off a year where they were the hot team.
As a recruit, I would be more drawn to Texas right now. That could certainly change if they play the season it seems like they have regressed. However if they show serious signs of progress, especially some defensive strength it would be hard to deny the appeal of coming to play for an up and coming texas team helping them return to NC glory

This is verifiably false--both presently and historically.
