LOTS of stuff happens in recruiting Santa, mainly by boosters...it is a NASTY business'
Also football PALES in comparison to how bad basketball recruiting is...you should hear some of THOSE stories...

It was off campus...

I would appreciate that. Not that I don't believe it at all, just would like to learn a little more about it before I make too many assumptions.

Only one off the top of my head that did well is Justin Vincent for LSU. He had a great freshman year in 03, but post NC he found a new love.
Capstone posted a list last year of grayshirts that did well in college. Maybe he still has it? Knowing him he probably memorized it. It's not really a list you can find with google or wikipedia.
