Jacobs really needs to work on his defense and rebounding this summer. If he can pull down just 6 or 7 a game and at least make opposing post players work for points it will help us tremendously. Otherwise I am worried that teams with decent bigs will kill us in half court sets. Pollard does have like a 6'11" wingspan though, so hopefully he can help with post defense.

Pollard very well may lead the team in rebounding this year. I agree with you on Jacobs needing to improve at rebounding. And Levi is a great rebounder for his size and position.

If he loses the weight he said he was going to this summer, I think he'll have increased energy and stamina which will help with rebounding. All of them being up there for summer school and workouts can only help. I think Pollard will really help with help side defense with his leaping ability and wingspan to block shots.

Pollard has the chance to be a 1st team Freshman all american.

Agree or disagree?

Yeah, he needs to be playing at 230, not 250 or whatever he was last season.

He has talent and he'll have to be a focal point for us to have success, but I don't see him being THAT good.

I have to agree with you, but I don't think it's that far fetched.

Pollard will be a great player if he can improve just a little in a few areas. Scoring off the dribble and outside shooting in particular. It will take him a couple of years to do that though. I think he can be All SEC Freshman, but not All American Freshman.

He kind of strikes me as a more athletic, more motivated Green.

Hes got the potential to and certainly will have enough PT to, but I think 2nd or 3rd team would be a far more realistic goal for him.

His pullup jumper is actually quite deadly. If he just works on his consistency from mid range his scoring of the dribble shouldn't be much of a problem area. Long range and his sometimes loose ball handling is his biggest weakness right now Imo and neither are bad at all.

Video, Mom talks about moving to Tuscaloosa

Derrick McKey was the 1987 SEC player of the Year and played in the NBA from 1987-2002 with the Seattle Supersonics, Indiana Pacers and Philadelphia 76ers. McKey says he didn't persuade Pollard to go to Alabama but believes it was the best choice and the "sky is the limit" for Devonta.

Thanks good video

It is easy for us to berrade him for his mom getting so involved but seems like once he lost his father he had to become the man of the family and was way too young for that, I think he will do great things in Tuscaloosa

I think its less about him being a mommas boy and more about his mom clinging to him. People who lose their spouses try to fill that hole by clinging even harder to their children. Like said above Pollard had to become the man of the house, and part of that's taking care of his mother. I'm not speaking from experience or anything, but I have noticed that happening among some of my friends who have been through a similar experience.

@EvanDanielsFOX: 2012 top 100 player Montrezl Harrell left Louisville's campus uncommitted. Will be curious to see if he takes any more visits.

That is a good sign for everyone else. They were believed to be in the best shape. It would be funny if we go from worrying about getting anyone at all to picking up a couple of top 100 players.

If we get him on a visit it would be huge with the excitement about Pollard.

Doesn't really mean anything. Harrell already said hes definitely taking 3 visits and that he wasn't committing until after he visited all 3.
