Bunch of anger over in that thread. Funny how they are accusing us of impropriety when they are the ones who jumped into it at the last minute.

Pollard: I feel like we're going to be good enough to be in the Final 4. I'm looking forward to the challenge.

It took a while, but Alabama landed the biggest commitment thus far in the Anthony Grant era when five-star forward Devonta Pollard committed to the Crimson Tide at a ceremony held at Kemper County High School in De Kalb, Mississippi on Friday evening. The 6-foot-8, 205-pounder selected Alabama over Texas, Missouri, Georgetown, and LSU.
Pollard becomes the lone member of Alabama's signing class of 2012.
“I asked God which school to go to- I wasn’t sure if it was the right one, so I asked him again and told him ‘if there’s any other school I should go to, please show me.’ Alabama was the answer,” said Pollard.
The McDonald’s All-American cited his comfort level at Alabama and relationship with Anthony Grant as primary reasons for picking the Crimson Tide.
“For me, I felt more comfortable at Alabama and I felt like I had a better connection with the coaching staff at Alabama. I’m not saying that me and the coaches at those other schools didn’t have a good connection, because we did. I just had a better one at Alabama.
“(Grant is) a great man. There’s nothing about him that’s negative- he’s always on the positive side. He wants to win himself. He hates to lose. He’s going to always stay on his kids about winning and about being successful.”
Pollard was unsure when asked how long he intends to stay at Alabama and added that he plans to enroll in the second session of summer school.
“I can’t say how long (I’ll stay there). Only God knows- however long he wants me there is how long I’ll be there,” he stated. “I think I’m going to start class on July 5th.”
The five-star wing admittedly struggled with the decision, delaying his announcement a few weeks past the NCAA signing period.
“Throughout the recruiting process everything was hard because a lot of coaches were coming after me. They were always calling and the relationships I had with all of them, it was hard just to choose one. I could only go to one and that’s why I committed to the University of Alabama.
“About a month ago, I told the coaches that I didn’t want to take anymore calls because I felt like I was being pressured too much to make the wrong decision, and I didn’t want to make the wrong decision. Everybody told me I couldn't make a wrong decision with all the schools involved, but the truth is yes I can- I can make the wrong decision.”
Pollard, who becomes Grant’s highest rated recruit at Alabama, says he feels relief but noted that he won’t be ultimately satisfied until he reaches his goal of playing in the NBA.
“Now that the decision I made is behind me, I’m already feeling a little bit relieved because I won’t have to worry about picking the wrong school. The pressure isn’t all the way gone because I still have to go away and play ball and try to be successful. If I do that, then all that’s when the pressure will be off my shoulders and I won’t have to worry when I make it to the next level.”

My expectations for next year are to just make the NCAAs again and win a game. If we don't improve our outside shooting, even that modest goal will be difficult to attain.
Our 2013-2014 team should be good enough for a deep run if Engstrom and Gueye are just consistently solid role players by then.
Releford
Lacey
Randolph
Cooper
Jacobs
Pollard
Taylor
Hale
Whoever else is part of the 2013 class (please be Barber)
Should be a deep, talented, athletic team.

Pollard on what Bama fans should expect.
Love the confidence. Best non physical attribute a player can have.

"They're going to see a player with high energy all four quarters," the five-star player said after making his announcement at his Kemper County High School gym. "They're going to see a player that's going to get up and down the floor and block shots and rebound.
"They're going to get highlights. They're just going to see a player that loves to play the game of basketball and hates to lose. I always want to win."

Been a Pats fan since I was 9. Was thrilled with that pick.

Well, if we only get one this year, this is a good one.
I know this is huge weight off Grant's shoulders. To go from being shut out to getting a true potential game changer.
Maybe, now he can grow another 8 inches like Anthony Davis did over the past two years.

Don't forget Chandler Jones. We may not need a secondary

.... and what's up with the football thread?

If that kid ever gets his head out of his arse he could be a hell of an NBA player despite his height. Hell he played like a first round draft pick with half-assed effort to start last year. Cant keep myself from thinking "what if" with him. But if CAG cant motivate you to play hard who could?
