You asked where Cal said that. I told you where I figured it probably came from. No where did I say that I think he's anything like Davis. Calm the frick down

A poster put this on bamamag. I assume it's correct: Shannon Hale-the Alabama commit went for 22, 15, 22, and 15 in four games in Dallas this weekend.  He was 19 for 38 from the field and 33 for 38 from the free throw line.  Nice free throw shooting by the big man!  RTR

Here's a Sina article: LINK

quote:

Northwestern and Alabama are also involved, as are several Big East schools. “Northwestern offered since last year,” Mergin said. “Alabama’s very strong in the running. “A variety of Big East schools, St. John’s is still there, Rutgers is still there.”

quote:

As for a timetable, Mergin said: “Jaren wants to do something by July but I told him we’re not doing anything on emotions.”

I don't think we will get him back. It seems like his father is running the show with his recruitment and doesn't want him at Bama.

I tend to agree with Robot but I dont know. The way that Hale is playing this could be a pretty special class. He could want to be a part of that.

Shannon Hale got invited to the Amare Stoudamire skills academy. Never heard of it but it must be something special to get an invite to it.

OK just looked this up and this is huge. There are only 24 invites given out and its for college players as well. Only for big men.

Taylor and Davis and not even close to similar players. You might as well compare every skinny big man. I heard Taylor compares to Malcolm White.

It was on twitter yesterday, so not sure if it is old or not. I assume it is between Alabama and Texas?

Post from a basketball insider on BOL. He is usually pretty solid. Not much too different except for the guy that is mentioned in the top. No one knows who that guy is though. He only has 23 posts.

quote:

I labeled the thread this way to expand on the original Pollard posting that was started earlier today. That poster (Phil) said that his source said Pollard was not coming to Bama (and he very well may be right - it seems like he is a credible one).

My source, as with most, has been waiting for more information simply because it has been an unknown for some time now. His feeling was similar to that of IvoryTusks (see initial Pollard thread) in that Pollard has seen all he can see of all these programs yet he has decided to not to make a decision in the signing period. This in itself says a lot - if you know everything, why haven't you made a decision? It typically would indicate you didn't like your choices enough to make a decision. Or, in some cases, maybe some schools are offering "extra incentive" and you are mulling over the options. Don't think that's the case with Bama, but that could be why he's slow playing us.

With that said, my source still doesn't know where Pollard will end up. He hasn't felt good about it for a little while because of the reasons above.

However, one thing we do know is that Pollard has submitted admission papers to UA. I just found this out today, which is interesting because it seems to indicate that we are definitely not out of it yet although it doesn't guarantee anything. A player can submit admission papers to numerous schools and make a decision later.

I guess we'll see if Phil is right or not, but it will hurt to lose out on Pollard this late in the game with no clear other options on the board for the 2012 class at this point.

Glad 2013 is looking strong. We're gonna need it!

Like I said earlier, I think State was so far out in front that he wasn't really taking the process seriously and was just going through it for fun. Then Stansbury got fired and everything changed. Now he doesn't know what to do because he really doesn't know dick about any of his "finalists".

Nah, he was on our campus just about as much as he was at MSU.Dont think he was ever going anywhere besides state but he was definitely taking a good look.

I guess I didn't word that right. He knows about the schools, rosters, coaching staffs, etc. I just get the impression that he never gave any thought to how he would fit in anywhere besides State. So now he's basically having to make a major, potentially life altering decision after about 5 or 6 weeks of serious deliberation.

Thats what ive been trying to say. If state still had Stans he wouldve been made his decision to go there. The fact that he has visited us as many times as State and hasnt given us a verbal lets me know that he isnt coming here. He has visited us a lot more than any other school on his list and we were thought to be the favorite with Miss St. Well if we were the thought to be favorite just seems to me he wouldve been here already. Hope im wrong but thats just my thought.
