I think Steele's family is well enough and he's smart enough to be on academic scholarship, but idk about Eblen.

LOL process them CAG. Im glad Eblen is gone honestly. Making room for better players. No problem with that.

Never an Eblen fan but cutting a guy before his senior year is not cool.
Other factors and considerations probably involved so not judging yet.

From ESPN
Trouble in Starkville
I’m not sure anybody knew what kind of impact Rick Stansbury stepping down from Mississippi State would have on the basketball program. It’s now out of the running for Devonta Pollard, the best player in the state. It’s top freshman, Rodney Hood, has decided to transfer, and Gavin Ware, one of its early signees has considered looking elsewhere. The repercussions have only benefited Alabama in recruiting, and the Crimson Tide have a legitimate shot at landing Pollard, who took his official visit to UA last weekend. To see how it went, click here. If Pollard wants to go where it feels like home, Alabama now seems like the most likely destination. As for Hood, the school won’t release him to an SEC school, which takes UA out of the running. Expect Duke, Florida State, Louisville and Ohio State to be major players for the transfer.
Walker down to Gators, Tide
In addition to Pollard, the UA coaching staff is also going after Winter Haven, Fla., guard DeVon Walker in the late signing period, which begins today. Walker is expected to announce his decision Friday morning at his high school and will choose between Alabama and Florida. It was thought to be between Alabama and Florida State, but the Gators have stepped up their recruitment of Walker with the possibility of star freshman Bradley Beal turning pro. If Beal enters the NBA draft as expected, sources say Walker will more than likely choose Florida because of a desire to stay close to home. In fact, he was on the phone with Gators’ head coach Billy Donovan late Tuesday night, potentially discussing Beal’s future.

That would blow if Donovan can just swoop in and whoop Grant again

The way CAG has always defended and often praised Eblen I can't believe that he would cut him for performance. Maybe for disciplinary reasons, but not because of his lack of athletic ability.

Evan Daniels picked Pollard to Georgetown and Brian Snow picked Pollard to Bama. Jeff Borzello picked Pollard to Bama as well.

Telep picking Georgetown concerns me.

Maybe because they are getting the last visit

Props to John Thompson III if Pollard picks Gtown. He doesn't fit their style at all and they have an established starter at his position. I'd love to hear the pitch they used to even make it this far.

He doesnt fit there style at all. There whole game is half court.
Posted on 4/11/12 at 2:02 pm to Tide or Die87
I've never really understood why they were ever in the mix. The rest of the schools he has shown interest in all play more of a full court transition style and they won't have an established starter at his position next year. Georgetown is the exact opposite of that. It could be a good thing for us though. Regardless it's kind of strange.

Looks like UF pushed Walter Pitchford out. That opens a spot for Bennett.

A guy's grandfather being extremely sick wouldn't be what I call pushing out.

That kid Bennet is a beast. Hopefully one day we will get players like him!
