Do they think its a possibility?

Our roster does not roll over each year. It is tragic that after being here for three years, a true freshman could be your best low post defender and low post scoring threat. That doesn't say much for the program that you are building
not true. this year there is a lot of roll over, especially in terms of low post defending and low post scoring. if pollard had came in last year, you wouldnt have said that he was a better low post player than Green. Mitchell would have been considered a better low post player than Pollard coming in also, had he not left the team.
sure, alabama's roster doesnt roll over to the same extent as kentucky's. nobody's does. but roster turnover is still the nature of today's college game. its not neccessarily a bad thing that your incoming players are already more polished than the guys already in school.
I am not criticizing CAG, I am glad he is the coach at UA. But in his three years, he has not brought one quality big man to the floor that he signed. Engstrom is a work in progress, and Gueye has been injured and did not have the impact that anyone hoped for last year. It remains to be seen if he can have an impact when he is healthy.
Jacobs has shown some promise on offense, but has difficulty guarding his shadow and has about a 2 inch vertical which limits his ability to rebound.
JaMychal was a great player at Bama, and was a Mcdonald's all american. He was also signed by MG. Tony Mitchell was talented, but never was an offensive post player and was a below average post defender. He scored mainly in transition, from the perimeter or on putbacks, rarely in the low post. I would not rate him above Pollard on either end as a post player.
Pollard is the key to next season. CAG needs to sign Pollard and at least one other quality big man in order to keep his recruiting momentum going and to keep his team on an upward trajectory.
Bama has a good nucleus to build around, but this year is especially critical. If he can become an up-tempo team, it will help his recruiting. Hard to sell 5* recruits if all you can offer is we will teach you how to play defense.

Devon Walker is announcing on Friday, and we are said to be his leader. Down to us and UF. I think UF already has two or three commits at his position, too.

Devon Walker (Winter Haven, Fla./Winter Haven) –Walker originally committed to Central Florida but will now decide between Alabama and Florida Friday. The 6-foot-6 wing player took an official visit to Alabama in February and took an unofficial to Florida also. Walker is more of a scoring wing but is capable of stepping over and running the point as well.
Thanks!
And that William Gunter guy said we're the team to beat.

If he can, he will forget how the instant he puts on that crimson jersey.

He's decent from what I've read. Nothing automatic though. I pray he could just hit 30%...that'd be unbelievable for us.

i dont think i could name 5 players that i've actually seen play for bama that are really good three point shooters.

It's terrible but true. We have a bunch of 25% shooters. If they can step it up over 30%, maybe we'll look competent on offense.

Which is sad. I watched Randolf/lacy play HS games.
If you would have told me they would struggle the way they did this past season i would've laughed. I can't explain it. Their shot looks good for the most part, there is just no confidence behind it.

Lacey actually started shooting relatively well from outside towards the end of the season. He's going to be really good. I think it just took him a while to fully recover from the surgery.

Ronald steele could shoot. Around 40 percent for his career. Emmett Thomas was deadly his senior year, the elite 8 team.

We need to let Lacey shoot when he pleases. I think he can score in bunches, but we have to make him stay aggressive.

Absolutely. If he has an open shot he should be encouraged to take it regardless of how much time is left on the clock.
I did some research to confirm my feeling, and he did indeed shoot 42% from 3 after the game in Auburn.

In that time frame, how many did he make and attempt? He started shooting more didn't he?
