When CAG wants and needs a guy badly the way we need Pollard we get him, why I think we are gonna be extremely tough to beat, plus I've heard really good things recently after the visit he took to Tuscaloosa for the Bama vs Ms St game.
Bama used to haul a lot of kids out of Miss. James Robinson and Antonio McDyess are two big names I recall. Need to open that pipeline back up.

In April when the signing period starts I think.

I get the sense we have a good shot too. Stans, for all his faults, has a good record with in-state kids which is why I'm wary, but he seems to really think highly of Grant. Not to mention all the perceived turmoil in Starkville (granted they could easily be a win or two away from the tourny), and the fact that Tuscaloosa is really no issue distance wise (what 20 miles farther, 30?).

This guy can play basketball but fricking sucks at interviews
that was hard to listen to

Why does CAG look so pissed?
He must be staring down Stans right there, giving him the Bama evil eye.

Yeah and at this point it would take a couple upsets and Miss St to make the champ game of the SEC tourney to feel comfortable and not be on the bubble and Bama is pretty much almost a lock at this point just playing for seeding

It's a psychological warfare.

The interview Bryant posted a couple pages back was hilariously awkward
He seems really soft spoken/camera shy.
All I've seen are highlights, but what are we looking at, a potential 2 and done? 1 and done? His handle for a kid his size (not to mention the athleticism) was really impressive, but I couldn't get any sort of impression about his shooting.

I don't think he's a 1 and done. I'm thinking 2 years at the absolute minimum.

No doubt could be a one a done
watching this game reminds me of a shorter anthony davis who can handle the ball and shoot it from anywhere

Kid is impressive but the level of competition isn't. I am not sure that Lacey, Cooper or Randolph couldn't also dominate this game.

I am in my business too, but I don't look like I'm about to choke the shite out of someone.

Coast to coast leap from close to the free throw line and sends it in.

I'm sure they would have. Lacey was dominant for a long period in Alabama's highest classification (Cooper was a monster his senior year and obviously Randolph was a great high school player too). But Pollard's length and skills would be impressive for an NBA scout. As great a high school player as Lacey was I never even remotely entertained the notion that he was a one and done, or even a two and done. He's a 6'3/6'4 combo guard with good enough athleticism but not nearly special athleticism.

And they get their rankings from what they do in AAU, not high school for the most part. So Pollard is dominating AAU competition. Cooper is the only one who I've seen get a huge bump just from playing great your senior year of high school, and that was only for Rivals.

I am impressed. Sign the kid already.

How is Craig Sword and GW Carver from Montgomery doing this year team wise?
Posted on 3/1/12 at 10:03 pm to jddawg58
Pollard doesn't like to box out. That's the only negative I've seen tonight.
